Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Build And Release Engineer
Document your CI/CD tool expertise early
Before PERM filing begins, compile evidence linking your hands-on experience with specific pipeline tools to your employer's job requirements. USCIS scrutinizes whether your credentials match the role definition used in the labor certification.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Search DOL disclosure data to identify companies that have sponsored Build And Release Engineer or DevOps roles through PERM before. Prior filings in your specialty signal an established internal process and legal team familiar with your job category.
Find sponsoring employers through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Build And Release Engineer openings by green card sponsorship status. Targeting employers already verified to sponsor EB-2 and EB-3 candidates cuts out the guesswork at the job search stage.
Verify your prevailing wage classification before accepting an offer
Run your target job title and location through the OFLC Wage Search to confirm the wage level your employer must certify. A Level I or II classification affects both your offer negotiation and the strength of the PERM filing.
Understand how EB-3 filing timelines affect your start date
PERM adjudication at DOL currently runs several months before an I-140 petition can even be filed. Factor this into offer timing conversations so your employer understands the full sponsorship window from certification to green card approval.
Ask employers about concurrent I-140 and I-485 filing eligibility
If your priority date is current when PERM is approved, you can file the I-140 and adjustment of status simultaneously, cutting wait time significantly. Confirm your employer's counsel is prepared to pursue concurrent filing if your country's visa bulletin allows it.
Green Card Build And Release Engineer: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Build And Release Engineer role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Most Build And Release Engineer positions qualify under EB-3 for professionals holding a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. If the role requires a master's degree or you hold an advanced degree and your employer defines the position accordingly, EB-2 sponsorship is also available. The specific category depends on the minimum requirements stated in the PERM job description.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
H-1B visa is a temporary status capped at 85,000 new visas annually and subject to a lottery, while EB-3 green card sponsorship through PERM has no annual cap on filings. The green card process takes longer overall, typically two to four years or more depending on your country of birth, but it results in permanent residency rather than a renewable temporary status that requires employer dependency.
What does the PERM process require from my employer for this role?
Your employer must conduct a supervised recruitment campaign under DOL rules to document that no minimally qualified U.S. workers applied for the position. The job description used during recruitment must match the role's actual requirements. After DOL certifies the labor condition, your employer files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS on your behalf before you can apply for adjustment of status.
Where can I find Build And Release Engineer jobs with green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search Build And Release Engineer openings filtered specifically by EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship, so you're not manually sifting through postings from employers who won't sponsor. Focusing your search this way means your outreach targets companies that have already committed to or have experience with the PERM process for technical roles.
Can I switch employers during the green card process without losing my place?
Once your I-140 is approved and has been pending for 180 days or more, portability rules under AC21 let you change to a same or similar role without restarting the process. For Build And Release Engineers, roles classified under the same O*NET occupation code or a closely related one typically satisfy the similarity requirement, but your new employer's immigration counsel should confirm before you make the move.
