Clinical Dietitian Green Card Jobs
Clinical Dietitian roles qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which requires your employer to document that no qualified U.S. worker is available before filing an I-140 immigrant petition on your behalf. Registered Dietitian credentials and a bachelor's or master's degree in dietetics are central to building a strong PERM case.

Verify your RD credential meets PERM standards
PERM labor certification ties your green card eligibility to the specific requirements the employer lists in the job posting. Make sure your Commission on Dietetic Registration credential and state licensure are in order before your employer files, because discrepancies between your credentials and the posted requirements can trigger DOL audits.
Target hospitals with established PERM filing history
Large health systems and academic medical centers routinely sponsor foreign clinical dietitians and have in-house immigration teams familiar with the PERM process. Filter your job search to employers who have sponsored EB-3 professionals before, since first-time sponsors often underestimate DOL recruitment documentation requirements.
Search open roles on Migrate Mate by sponsorship type
Use Migrate Mate to filter Clinical Dietitian openings specifically by EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship availability, so you're applying only to employers already prepared to file PERM on your behalf rather than convincing reluctant hiring managers mid-process.
Benchmark your offered wage against the OFLC Wage Search
PERM requires your employer to pay at least the prevailing wage for your role and location, determined by DOL. Cross-check the OFLC Wage Search before accepting an offer, because a wage set below the Level I or Level II prevailing wage will stall or void the labor certification.
Understand how EB-3 differs from a temporary work visa
Unlike H-1B, EB-3 sponsorship has no annual lottery and leads directly to lawful permanent residency. PERM processing at DOL typically runs six to twelve months before your employer can file the I-140, so factor that total timeline into your work authorization planning.
Get your foreign dietetics degree evaluated early
If you completed your nutrition or dietetics degree outside the United States, USCIS requires a credential evaluation confirming equivalency to a U.S. bachelor's or master's degree. Request that evaluation from a NACES-member agency before your employer begins the PERM recruitment phase to avoid delays.

Find Clinical Dietitian JobsClinical Dietitian Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Clinical Dietitian roles qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Clinical Dietitian positions qualify under EB-3 as skilled professionals, since the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in dietetics and a Registered Dietitian credential. Candidates holding a master's degree in clinical nutrition or a related field, or those with specialized credentials in areas like oncology or critical care nutrition, may qualify under EB-2 as advanced-degree professionals, which can shorten certain processing steps.
How does EB-3 green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for a dietitian?
H-1B is a temporary work visa subject to an annual cap and lottery, meaning your petition could go unselected through no fault of your own. EB-3 green card sponsorship through PERM is permanent residency with no lottery and no annual cap at the petition level for most nationalities. The trade-off is timeline: PERM labor certification, I-140 approval, and adjustment of status together typically take two to four years, compared to H-1B's faster but uncertain path.
What does the PERM process look like for a Clinical Dietitian employer?
Your employer must conduct a structured DOL recruitment campaign, advertising the Clinical Dietitian position through required channels and documenting that no qualified U.S. worker applied. After that recruitment period, they file the PERM application with DOL. Once certified, they file an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. The entire labor certification phase typically takes six to twelve months before the I-140 is even filed on your behalf.
How can I find Clinical Dietitian jobs that offer green card sponsorship?
Search on Migrate Mate and filter specifically by EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship to surface employers who are already prepared to run a PERM labor certification. Applying to roles where sponsorship is confirmed upfront saves significant time compared to negotiating with employers who have never navigated PERM before, particularly in healthcare settings where hiring timelines are already tight.
Does my foreign dietetics degree count toward PERM eligibility?
Yes, but USCIS requires a formal credential evaluation confirming your foreign degree is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's or master's degree in dietetics or a related field. You'll need that evaluation from a NACES-member agency before your employer can complete the PERM filing. If you also trained outside the U.S., confirm your Commission on Dietetic Registration pathway is complete, since U.S. licensure is typically listed as a job requirement in the employer's PERM posting.
