Green Card Commercial Project Manager Jobs
Commercial Project Manager roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship when the position requires a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field. Employers initiate PERM labor certification with the DOL before filing an I-140 immigrant petition, making sponsorship a defined, employer-driven process rather than a lottery.

Translate your credentials into PERM language
PERM requires your education and experience to match the job's stated minimum requirements exactly. Get foreign degrees evaluated by a NACES-accredited service before applying, so credential gaps don't stall your labor certification.
Target employers with dedicated project pipelines
General contractors, engineering firms, and real estate developers with multi-year project backlogs are more likely to sponsor green cards because they need long-term staff continuity. Short-term or project-based employers rarely absorb the PERM timeline.
Search sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters Commercial Project Manager roles by employers with active green card filing history, so you're applying to companies already committed to EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship rather than guessing at willingness during interviews.
Confirm the prevailing wage before your offer
PERM requires employers to pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your location and role. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check the wage level for your specific job zone before negotiating an offer, so you're not caught short at filing.
Clarify EB-2 versus EB-3 eligibility with your employer
If your role requires a master's degree or you have a bachelor's plus five years of progressive project management experience, ask whether the employer will pursue EB-2. EB-3 is more commonly filed for standard bachelor's-level positions and may affect your priority date.
Understand what triggers an RFE on specialty occupation
USCIS scrutinizes Commercial Project Manager petitions when job duties overlap general business management. Your employer's I-140 should document project complexity, budget authority, and technical scope to distinguish the role from non-specialty positions.
Green Card Commercial Project Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Commercial Project Manager role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Most Commercial Project Manager positions qualify for EB-3 when the employer requires a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field. EB-2 applies if the role requires a master's degree or if you hold a bachelor's degree plus at least five years of progressive, specialized experience. The PERM job description must reflect whichever standard the employer actually uses when hiring.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for this role?
Green card sponsorship through PERM leads to permanent residency rather than temporary status. Unlike H-1B visa, EB-3 sponsorship has no annual lottery, so your employer can file at any time without the risk of non-selection. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM labor certification typically adds six to twelve months before the I-140 is even filed, making total processing longer than a typical H-1B approval.
Which types of employers typically sponsor green cards for Commercial Project Managers?
General contractors, civil engineering firms, commercial real estate developers, and large infrastructure companies are the most consistent sponsors because they operate on multi-year project timelines and need stable, long-term staff. Staffing agencies and short-duration project firms rarely sponsor because PERM requires the employer to demonstrate a permanent, full-time position.
How can I find Commercial Project Manager jobs with green card sponsorship?
The most direct method is filtering by employers with documented EB-2 or EB-3 filing history rather than relying on job postings that mention sponsorship informally. Migrate Mate surfaces Commercial Project Manager roles by employers with active green card sponsorship records, which removes the guesswork from your search and focuses your applications on confirmed sponsors.
What role does the prevailing wage requirement play in PERM sponsorship?
DOL requires your employer to pay at least the prevailing wage for your job title, experience level, and work location before PERM can be certified. You can verify the applicable wage using the OFLC Wage Search. If the offered salary falls below the prevailing wage for your level, PERM cannot proceed until the employer adjusts the compensation.
