Green Card Digital Content Strategist Jobs
Digital Content Strategist roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process when employers can demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available. Specialized content strategy skills tied to a relevant degree support both EB-2 advanced-degree and EB-3 professional petitions, leading to permanent U.S. residency rather than a renewable temporary status.

Document your content strategy specialization early
Gather performance data, campaign briefs, and audience analytics that demonstrate specialized content strategy expertise. PERM requires your employer to define a role requiring your specific background, so concrete evidence of specialized work strengthens the job description during audit.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Search for Digital Content Strategist roles at companies that have previously filed PERM applications in your field. Employers already familiar with the DOL labor certification process move faster and make fewer procedural errors that delay your green card timeline.
Search green card sponsoring roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Digital Content Strategist openings by employers actively sponsoring EB-2 or EB-3 green cards. This cuts the time you'd otherwise spend cold-approaching companies unfamiliar with PERM sponsorship for marketing and content roles.
Verify the prevailing wage before negotiating salary
Your employer must pay the DOL-certified prevailing wage for your location and job zone. Look up your role's wage level using the OFLC Wage Search before you negotiate, so your offer letter reflects a salary PERM will certify without a wage determination challenge.
Clarify the EB-2 versus EB-3 path with your employer
EB-2 requires your role to formally require an advanced degree or equivalent, while EB-3 covers roles requiring a bachelor's degree. Ask your employer's immigration counsel which classification fits the actual job duties before the PERM job description is drafted and filed.
Understand how PERM advertising affects your start date
PERM requires the employer to run recruitment ads for a set period before filing, which typically adds 60 to 90 days before the DOL application is even submitted. Factor this into your timeline when evaluating an offer, so you're not surprised by the gap before USCIS receives the I-140.
Green Card Digital Content Strategist: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Digital Content Strategist role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Both categories can apply depending on how the job is structured. EB-2 fits roles your employer formally defines as requiring a master's degree or equivalent in communications, marketing, or a related field. EB-3 covers positions requiring a bachelor's degree. The PERM job description needs to reflect actual day-to-day duties, so the classification is driven by the role's real requirements, not just the title.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for this role?
An H-1B visa is a temporary status requiring renewal and subject to an annual lottery for cap-subject petitions. An employment-based green card through PERM leads to permanent residency with no renewal requirement. There's also no annual lottery at the EB-2 or EB-3 level for most countries, though applicants from high-demand countries like India and China face priority date backlogs. The PERM filing itself adds six to twelve months to the process before the I-140 is even filed with USCIS.
What does the PERM process actually require from a Digital Content Strategist candidate?
Your employer handles most of the PERM filing, including the DOL recruitment ads and the labor certification application. Your role is to ensure your credentials match the job description exactly, including your degree field and years of experience. If your degree is from outside the U.S., a credential evaluation may be required. USCIS and DOL both scrutinize whether your background fits the specific requirements stated in the PERM application.
How can I find Digital Content Strategist jobs that offer green card sponsorship?
Most general job boards don't filter by green card sponsorship intent, which means significant time spent on applications that go nowhere. Migrate Mate is built specifically for employment-based green card job searches, letting you filter Digital Content Strategist roles by employers with active EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship history. That narrows your search to companies already set up to run the PERM process.
Does O*NET classify Digital Content Strategist as a specialty occupation eligible for green card sponsorship?
O*NET places content strategy roles in job zones requiring substantial preparation, typically a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field like communications, marketing, or digital media. This classification supports both EB-2 and EB-3 petitions when the PERM job description matches the O*NET occupational profile. Employers and their immigration counsel often reference O*NET data when drafting the job requirements for the PERM application.
