Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship in Director Of Financial Reporting
Document your CPA and advanced credentials early
PERM requires your employer to match your actual qualifications to the job requirements filed with DOL. Gather official transcripts, CPA licensure certificates, and any advanced degree equivalency evaluations before your employer begins the labor certification.
Target public companies with SEC reporting obligations
Publicly traded companies must maintain a dedicated financial reporting function under SEC rules, making Director of Financial Reporting a structural role rather than an optional hire. These employers sponsor green cards more consistently because the position is difficult to eliminate.
Search verified sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Director of Financial Reporting openings by employers with confirmed EB-2 and EB-3 filing history, so you spend your time on companies that have already committed to the PERM process for finance roles.
Understand how PERM wage tiers affect your offer
DOL assigns prevailing wage levels using the OFLC Wage Search. A Level III or IV wage determination is common for director-level reporting roles, and your offer must meet or exceed that figure for PERM certification to proceed without challenge.
Confirm the employer will file concurrently with I-140
Ask whether the employer will file the I-140 concurrently with or immediately after PERM approval. Concurrent filing shortens the gap before your priority date is established, which matters significantly if your country of birth faces EB-2 or EB-3 backlogs.
Request specificity in the PERM job description draft
PERM job requirements must reflect what the role actually demands. For Director of Financial Reporting positions, vague language around SEC reporting, consolidation, or technical accounting standards can invite DOL audits. Review the draft requirements carefully before your employer submits.

Find Director Of Financial Reporting JobsDirector Of Financial Reporting Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Director of Financial Reporting role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Both categories apply depending on the employer's requirements. EB-2 covers the role when the position requires a master's degree or equivalent in accounting or finance. EB-3 covers it as a skilled worker position requiring at least a bachelor's degree. Most director-level financial reporting roles qualify at the EB-2 level when the employer's job requirements are documented correctly through PERM.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
Green card sponsorship through PERM and I-140 leads to permanent residency rather than a temporary status. Unlike H-1B, there is no annual lottery for EB-3, and the process isn't tied to a fiscal year cap at the petition stage. The PERM process typically adds 12 to 24 months before the I-140 is filed, but the outcome is lawful permanent residence rather than a visa requiring periodic renewal.
What does the PERM process actually require from a Director of Financial Reporting employer?
The employer must conduct DOL-mandated recruitment, document that no qualified U.S. worker applied and was rejected without lawful reason, and certify prevailing wage compliance using the OFLC Wage Search. For director-level finance roles, the job requirements must specifically reflect SEC reporting, GAAP, or consolidation expertise. Generic job descriptions invite DOL audits that delay or derail certification.
Where can I find Director of Financial Reporting jobs with confirmed green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search Director of Financial Reporting roles filtered by employers with active EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship history. Searching this way narrows your list to companies that have already navigated the PERM process for finance positions, rather than employers who sponsor occasionally or only for engineering roles.
Does being born in India or China affect EB-2 or EB-3 green card eligibility for this role?
It doesn't affect eligibility, but it does affect wait times. USCIS processes EB-2 and EB-3 petitions for all nationalities, but applicants born in India or China face significant backlogs before a visa number becomes available. Your priority date is set when PERM is approved or when the I-140 is filed, so starting the process early matters most if you were born in a backlogged country.
