Role Summary
We are seeking a highly technical, energized Senior Accountant to support the full-cycle accounting for our multi-branded, private equity-backed platform. As we double in size annually, the "Office of the CFO" requires a leader who possesses uncompromising integrity, professional maturity, and a high degree of candor. The successful candidate will be a hands-on professional who ensures deadlines for the month-end financial close are met timely and accurately. Beyond technical proficiency, we look for "culture carriers"—individuals who maintain a championship-team mentality, stay "mentally present" in every interaction, and proactively protect the integrity of our financial data and team environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Financial Integrity: Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions with 100% accuracy.
- Full-Cycle Execution: Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue (royalty billing/collections), and expense entries; maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by resolving discrepancies.
- Strategic Variance Analysis: Performs monthly balance sheet, income statement, and changes in financial position variance analyses; possesses intimate knowledge of various entities to explain or correct discrepancies.
- Proactive Communication: Maintains a standard of radical transparency with leadership; identifies potential bottlenecks or risks to the Close timeline and communicates them proactively rather than reactively.
- Team Presence & Energy: Actively engages in daily stand-ups and collaborative sessions; contributes to a high-performance floor culture by remaining solution-oriented and professional even during high-pressure cycles.
- Operational Agility: Takes initiative as a self-starter to meet multiple deadlines in stressful situations; makes time for unplanned assignments and adapts quickly to changing priorities under the PE-sponsor model.
- Policy Compliance: Follows all company policies and procedures, serving as a model for Unleashed’s Core Values and maintaining strict confidentiality.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 3–4 years of full-cycle accounting or public accounting experience.
- Integrity & Reliability: A proven track record of professional candor and reliability. Understands that in accounting, integrity is binary; possesses the maturity to provide honest status updates at all times.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with large ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Great Plains).
- Adaptability: Willingness and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where "playing as a championship team" means supporting others during peak periods.
- Presence: Ability to maintain a consistent in-office presence (4 days/week) and provide "all-hands" support during business-critical deadlines. Full-time 40 hour workweek with over-time as considered necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2–3 years of audit experience at a regional or national CPA firm.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP, Dynamics 365 F&O, or OneStream.
- Graduate degree in Accounting or active CPA license.
Other Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Availability: Ability to work overtime or weekends as necessary to complete business-critical assignments, particularly during month-end close and audit cycles.
- Collaborative Commitment: A commitment to the mission-focused approach of Unleashed Brands, defaulting to trust through consistent performance and transparent communication.
Perks
- Paid bi-weekly
- Company Paid Holidays
- Flexible Paid Time Off
- Paid Parental Leave
- Multiple health care insurance plans that cover medical, dental, prescription, vision, and employer HSA contributions
- Competitive 401(k) Program with employer matching contributions

Align your credentials to PERM requirements
PERM requires the employer to define the minimum education and experience for the role before filing. Make sure your degree in accounting or finance and your years of experience match the job description exactly, since discrepancies during audit create delays.
Target employers with active PERM filing histories
Search the DOL's OFLC Wage Search and PERM disclosure data to identify companies that have sponsored Senior Corporate Accountant roles before. Repeat filers understand the process and are far less likely to withdraw sponsorship mid-process.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Filter by job title and green card sponsorship history on Migrate Mate to surface companies actively hiring Senior Corporate Accountants under EB-2 or EB-3. This cuts the research time of manually combing through PERM disclosure files.
Negotiate sponsorship terms before signing your offer
Ask whether the employer will cover PERM attorney fees and filing costs, and confirm they'll maintain the sponsorship if your role title changes. Get these commitments in writing before you accept, since PERM is tied to the specific position.
Understand how your priority date affects your wait
For EB-3, nationals from India and China face significant backlogs tracked in the USCIS Visa Bulletin. Most other nationalities move through EB-3 far faster. Confirming your country of birth's current priority date early helps you plan your timeline realistically.
Document specialized accounting software proficiency separately
If your role requires proficiency in ERP systems like SAP or Oracle, the employer can include this in the PERM job description as a special requirement. This strengthens the case that no equally qualified U.S. worker is available, supporting the labor market test.
Green Card Senior Corporate Accountant: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Senior Corporate Accountant role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Senior Corporate Accountant positions typically qualify under EB-3 as a professional role requiring a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. EB-2 applies when the employer requires an advanced degree, such as a master's in accounting or an MBA with a finance concentration, or when the candidate holds equivalent credentials that meet the advanced-degree standard under USCIS guidelines.
How does green card sponsorship through PERM differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
H-1B visa sponsorship is temporary, subject to an annual lottery cap, and must be renewed. PERM-based green card sponsorship leads to permanent residency, has no annual cap at the EB-3 level for most nationalities, and isn't subject to a lottery. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM labor certification, I-140 approval, and adjustment of status together take longer than a single H-1B approval, often two to four years for non-backlogged nationalities.
What does the PERM labor market test mean for Senior Corporate Accountant candidates?
Before filing PERM, the employer must advertise the position and demonstrate that no equally qualified U.S. worker is available. As the sponsored candidate, you don't participate in this recruitment process, but you must match the minimum qualifications in the approved job description exactly. Any mismatch between your actual credentials and the PERM-approved requirements can trigger an audit or denial.
Where can I find Senior Corporate Accountant jobs that offer green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for Senior Corporate Accountant roles where employers have a documented history of EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship. This is more targeted than a general job search because it filters on actual PERM filing history, not just employer self-reported claims about visa support.
Can I switch employers while my green card application is in progress?
Once your I-140 has been approved for at least 180 days and you've filed for adjustment of status, you can port your priority date to a new employer in a same or similar occupational category under AC21 portability rules. For Senior Corporate Accountant roles, a move to a comparable accounting or financial reporting position at a new employer generally qualifies, but you'll need USCIS to confirm the occupational similarity.
