Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship in Electronic Assembler
Document your assembly credentials before applying
PERM requires your employer to verify your qualifications match the job requirements exactly. Gather certificates, training records, and letters confirming hands-on experience with specific assembly processes, PCB work, or quality control tasks before any employer files on your behalf.
Target manufacturers enrolled in E-Verify
E-Verify enrollment is required for federal contractors and signals an employer already navigates federal compliance regularly. Electronics manufacturers working on defense or government contracts are often more familiar with PERM sponsorship and more willing to initiate the process for skilled assemblers.
Use Migrate Mate to find green card sponsoring employers
Search by Electronic Assembler roles with EB-3 sponsorship history using Migrate Mate. Filtering by employers who have previously filed PERM applications for production or assembly roles cuts your research time and surfaces companies already experienced with the labor certification process.
Clarify the prevailing wage before accepting an offer
Your employer must pay the DOL-determined prevailing wage for your role and location throughout the PERM process. Look up the wage level for your assembly position using the OFLC Wage Search so you can verify any offer meets the threshold before the labor certification is filed.
Understand the EB-3 timeline for your country of birth
EB-3 green card timelines vary by country of birth, not citizenship. Workers born in high-demand countries like India or China face priority date backlogs that can extend the wait beyond the standard PERM plus I-140 processing window. Check the USCIS Visa Bulletin for your category before committing.
Request concurrent I-485 filing when your priority date allows
If your EB-3 priority date is current when your I-140 is approved, you can file the I-485 adjustment of status concurrently, locking in your place in line and allowing you to apply for a work permit while USCIS adjudicates your permanent residency application.
Green Card Electronic Assembler: Frequently Asked Questions
Can an Electronic Assembler job qualify for EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Yes. Electronic Assembler roles typically qualify under the EB-3 skilled worker category, which covers positions requiring at least two years of training or experience. The employer must complete PERM labor certification through DOL, demonstrating that no qualified U.S. workers are available for the role before sponsoring a foreign candidate for permanent residency.
How does EB-3 green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for assembly roles?
H-1B visa requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, which is difficult for most Electronic Assembler positions. EB-3 has no such restriction and leads to permanent residency rather than temporary status. There is no annual lottery for EB-3, though a priority date backlog may apply depending on your country of birth. PERM is slower than H-1B initial filing but the outcome is permanent.
What does PERM labor certification involve for an Electronic Assembler role?
PERM requires your employer to conduct a DOL-supervised recruitment campaign proving no qualified U.S. workers applied for or accepted the position. The employer posts the job through specific channels, documents all applicants, and files Form ETA-9089 with DOL. The process typically takes six to eighteen months before the employer can file the I-140 immigrant petition on your behalf.
Where can I find employers who sponsor green cards for Electronic Assembler jobs?
Migrate Mate lets you search Electronic Assembler openings filtered by employers with EB-3 and PERM sponsorship history, so you're not applying to companies unfamiliar with the process. Focusing on electronics manufacturers, defense contractors, and medical device companies tends to surface employers who sponsor regularly for production and assembly roles.
What qualifications do I need to support a PERM filing for an assembler position?
DOL requires your qualifications to match the minimum requirements stated in the PERM application exactly. For Electronic Assembler roles, this typically means documented experience with soldering, PCB assembly, or precision manufacturing, plus any certifications listed in the job description. Overstating qualifications or mismatching experience to requirements can invalidate the labor certification, so accuracy matters at every step.
