Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Logistics Coordinator
Document your supply chain credentials early
Gather degree transcripts, professional certifications like APICS CSCP or CLTD, and employment verification letters before applying. PERM requires your employer to formally establish your minimum qualifications, so having clean documentation speeds up the labor certification filing.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Search OFLC disclosure data to identify logistics and freight companies that have filed PERM applications for Logistics Coordinator roles. Employers already familiar with the process are less likely to withdraw sponsorship mid-filing due to unfamiliarity with DOL requirements.
Search green card jobs through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Logistics Coordinator roles specifically tied to EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship. You'll avoid wasting time on postings where sponsorship means H-1B visa only and never leads to permanent residency.
Clarify sponsorship intent before accepting offers
Ask hiring managers explicitly whether sponsorship covers permanent residency or only a temporary work visa. Many logistics employers use 'sponsorship available' to mean H-1B only, so confirming PERM is part of their process protects you from a dead-end commitment.
Verify your role meets DOL prevailing wage requirements
Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the prevailing wage for Logistics Coordinator in your target metro area before negotiations. If your offered salary falls below the DOL wage level, your employer's PERM application will fail at the labor certification stage.
Understand how job duties affect EB-2 versus EB-3 classification
Roles requiring only a bachelor's degree typically qualify under EB-3. If your position demands an advanced degree or you have specialized expertise beyond standard coordination duties, your employer may file under EB-2, which can mean shorter wait times for certain countries.
Green Card Logistics Coordinator: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Logistics Coordinator roles typically qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Logistics Coordinator positions qualify under EB-3, which covers skilled workers and professionals with a bachelor's degree. If the role requires an advanced degree or your background includes specialized expertise in areas like international trade compliance or enterprise-level supply chain management, your employer may file under EB-2 instead. The classification depends on how your employer defines the minimum job requirements in the PERM application.
How does PERM green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
PERM sponsorship leads to lawful permanent residency, not a temporary work authorization period. Unlike the H-1B, there is no annual lottery and no fixed expiration tied to the visa itself. The tradeoff is timeline: the PERM labor certification, I-140 petition, and adjustment of status process typically takes two to four years for most nationalities, and longer for applicants from India or China due to visa backlogs. Your job also generally needs to remain substantially the same throughout the process.
Can I find Logistics Coordinator jobs that specifically offer green card sponsorship, not just H-1B?
Yes. Migrate Mate lets you search Logistics Coordinator roles filtered by EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship, so you can identify employers already using the PERM process rather than relying on temporary work visas. This distinction matters because many job postings that mention 'visa sponsorship' only cover H-1B and do not commit to permanent residency.
Will my foreign logistics credentials and certifications count toward PERM eligibility?
Foreign degrees and certifications are evaluated based on equivalency to U.S. standards. A three-year foreign bachelor's degree may be accepted with a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved agency. Professional certifications like APICS CSCP are recognized across borders and can strengthen your employer's minimum requirements documentation for the PERM application, provided your employer includes them as job requirements from the outset.
What happens to my green card case if I change employers after PERM is filed?
If you change employers before your I-140 petition is approved, the PERM labor certification is generally tied to the sponsoring employer and cannot transfer. After your I-140 is approved and your priority date is current or close to being current, portability rules under AC21 may allow you to move to a similar role without restarting the process. Logistics Coordinator positions at different employers can often qualify as 'same or similar' under this rule, but your new employer must be willing to assume the petition.
