.NET Developer Green Card Jobs
NET Developer roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, where your employer files with DOL before petitioning USCIS for permanent residency. Software development positions consistently meet specialty occupation criteria, making green card sponsorship a realistic path for qualified foreign professionals.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a .NET Developer
Document your .NET specialization before applying
Gather evidence of framework-specific expertise: certifications in ASP.NET, Azure, or .NET MAUI, plus performance reviews naming those tools. PERM audits often probe whether your qualifications genuinely match the job requirements, so specific documentation beats a general resume.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Search the DOL PERM disclosure data to find companies that have filed labor certifications for software developer roles before. Repeat PERM filers have established internal processes, meaning your case moves faster and with fewer surprises than with a first-time sponsor.
Clarify EB-2 versus EB-3 eligibility with your offer
If the role requires only a bachelor's degree, it qualifies under EB-3. A position requiring an advanced degree or a demonstrably specialized skill set may support EB-2. Confirm which category your employer intends to file under before accepting an offer, since the category affects your priority date timeline.
Check prevailing wage requirements before negotiating salary
Your offered salary must meet the DOL prevailing wage for your job title and work location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the wage level your employer will certify. Accepting a below-wage offer creates a PERM compliance problem that can surface during adjudication.
Search for green card sponsors using Migrate Mate
Filter .NET Developer openings by employers with verified green card sponsorship history using Migrate Mate. This saves you from chasing roles where sponsorship is listed as possible but the company has no PERM track record, which is the most common wasted effort in a sponsored job search.
Understand concurrent filing if you're already in H-1B status
USCIS allows concurrent filing of I-140 and I-485 when a visa number is immediately available. If you hold H-1B status and your priority date is current, you can begin adjustment of status while staying fully employed, without waiting for I-140 approval first.

Find .NET Developer Jobs.NET Developer Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a .NET Developer role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most .NET Developer positions qualify under EB-3 as skilled workers requiring a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. Roles requiring an advanced degree or demonstrably specialized expertise may qualify under EB-2. Your employer's attorney determines the appropriate category based on the actual job requirements and your credentials, not your job title alone.
How does green card sponsorship for .NET Developers differ from H-1B sponsorship?
An H-1B is a temporary work visa requiring renewal every three years and subject to an annual lottery. A green card through PERM, I-140, and adjustment of status grants permanent residency with no renewal requirement. The process takes longer, typically two to four years for most nationalities under EB-3, but there is no cap lottery and your status is permanent once granted.
What does the PERM labor certification process require for software developer roles?
Your employer must post the .NET Developer position through a government-mandated recruitment process and demonstrate that no qualified U.S. worker applied. DOL then certifies the labor condition. For software roles, audits sometimes scrutinize whether the job requirements genuinely match your foreign credentials, so employers typically document the specialty occupation case carefully before filing.
How can I find .NET Developer jobs where the employer will sponsor a green card?
Search Migrate Mate to filter .NET Developer roles by employers with verified green card sponsorship history. This filters out postings where sponsorship is listed as a possibility but the company has never completed a PERM filing, which is common in general job searches. Targeting employers with a documented PERM track record significantly improves your chances of reaching I-140 and beyond.
Can my employer start the green card process while I am on H-1B status?
Yes. Employers can file a PERM application and then the I-140 petition while you remain on H-1B status. USCIS also allows concurrent I-140 and I-485 filing when a visa number is immediately available for your country and preference category. Your H-1B remains valid throughout, and if you change employers after I-140 approval, portability rules under AC21 may protect your priority date.
