Nurse Anesthetist Green Card Jobs
Nurse Anesthetist roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which lets U.S. employers permanently hire foreign-trained CRNAs. Hospitals and surgical centers filing I-140 petitions for this role must document prevailing wage compliance and recruit domestically before sponsorship begins.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship in Nurse Anesthetist
Target health systems with dedicated immigration support
Large hospital networks and regional medical centers running active PERM programs have in-house HR teams familiar with anesthesia roles. Smaller surgical centers may offer positions but lack the infrastructure to navigate the multi-year sponsorship process without outside counsel.
Search Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Filter Migrate Mate by the Nurse Anesthetist role to surface employers with documented green card filing history. This cuts the time spent cold-contacting facilities that have never filed PERM before and may not understand the EB-2 or EB-3 pathway.
Understand the PERM recruitment window before accepting offers
DOL requires employers to complete a mandatory recruitment period, typically 30 to 60 days, before filing PERM. Your start date cannot backdate to before that process concludes, so build this lag into your timeline when evaluating competing offers.
Confirm the offered wage clears the prevailing wage threshold
The DOL sets prevailing wage levels by geographic area and experience tier for CRNA roles. Cross-check any offer against the OFLC Wage Search before signing, since an offer below the applicable wage level forces the employer to refile a corrected prevailing wage determination.
Ask whether EB-2 or EB-3 is being filed for your role
CRNA positions typically support EB-2 sponsorship given the master's-level DNP or MSNA requirement, but some employers default to EB-3 for operational reasons. The category affects your priority date and, for nationals of backlogged countries, can shift your estimated wait by years.

Find Nurse Anesthetist JobsNurse Anesthetist Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Nurse Anesthetist jobs qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most CRNA positions qualify for EB-2 sponsorship because the role requires a master's degree in nurse anesthesia or a Doctor of Nursing Practice. Some employers file under EB-3 instead, which covers skilled professionals with a bachelor's degree or higher. The category the employer selects affects your priority date and wait time, so confirm which classification applies before accepting an offer.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for CRNAs?
Green card sponsorship through PERM leads to permanent residency, not a temporary status requiring renewal. Unlike H-1B, there's no annual lottery and no cap at the EB-3 level that blocks filing outright. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM, I-140 approval, and adjustment of status typically take two to four years for nationals without significant visa backlogs, compared to H-1B's faster but temporary authorization.
What does the PERM process look like for a Nurse Anesthetist role?
The employer files a prevailing wage determination with DOL, conducts a mandatory domestic recruitment period, then submits the PERM application. DOL must certify that no qualified U.S. workers are available for the role before the employer files the I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. The entire employer-side process often runs six to eighteen months before you can file for adjustment of status.
How do I find employers who will actually sponsor a green card for a CRNA role?
Use Migrate Mate to search by the Nurse Anesthetist job title and filter for employers with green card filing history. Many facilities that advertise CRNA openings have never filed PERM and aren't equipped to start the process. Targeting employers with a documented sponsorship track record dramatically reduces the risk of an offer that stalls after you've already resigned from another position.
Can a foreign-trained nurse anesthetist qualify for the EB-2 NIW self-petition pathway?
The National Interest Waiver allows EB-2-eligible candidates to self-petition without employer sponsorship if the work is in the national interest. CRNAs working in underserved rural or critical access settings may meet this standard, but NIW approval is not guaranteed and requires building a strong evidentiary case. Consulting an immigration attorney is advisable before pursuing NIW over employer-sponsored PERM.
