ABOUT THE TEAM
OpenAI didn’t begin as a traditional company. It began as an idea: that artificial intelligence could be developed in a way that benefits everyone. As a creative team, our role is to help make sure the work behind that idea is understood, as it leaves the lab and meets the world.
This company works at the frontier of intelligence. Like any frontier, it’s unfinished, constantly shifting, and still being explored. Our job is to stay close to that uncertainty and help shape how this story gets told, in a way that feels grounded and human. We do this through campaigns, launches, films, brand systems, and work that doesn’t fit neatly into any of those categories yet. This team is for people who want to help shape something from the beginning.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Marketing Center of Excellence Ops Lead to help build and run a production and vendor management center of excellence for OpenAI’s Marketing organization.
This role will support how Marketing identifies, engages with, manages, and invests in external partners, including creative agencies, production companies, media partners, and specialized vendors. You’ll work closely with Marketing working teams, Procurement, Legal, Finance, and external partners to create clear, efficient, and compliant ways of working.
The right person will be comfortable building processes while also solving day-to-day needs. You should bring strong marketing production judgment, vendor management experience, and the ability to translate business needs into practical workflows, investment structures, and operating models.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
-
Serve as the primary Marketing point of contact for vendor management and production operations needs across external partners.
-
Partner with Marketing leadership and working teams to define agency and vendor engagement models, scopes, KPIs, and ways of working.
-
Build foundational Business Affairs frameworks for global marketing activations, including guidance around talent usage rights, localization, channel usage, content edits/slicing, and region-specific production considerations across global campaigns.
-
Work with Procurement and Commercial Legal to execute vendor agreements and develop Marketing-specific workflows and templates that help teams move quickly while staying compliant.
-
Advise teams on production-related vendor needs, including agency models, production company engagement, usage considerations, and operational risk.
-
Help teams define what success looks like for each vendor relationship and ensure partners are delivering against agreed expectations.
-
Bring financial and operational discipline to investments through actionable data so marketing leaders can double down on what drives the most growth without slowing teams down.
-
Maintain visibility into vendor status, contract terms, spend, renewals, key obligations, and open issues.
-
Create documentation, training, and communications that help Marketing teams navigate vendor processes and internal systems.
-
Support compliance with OpenAI standards, including privacy, data security, AI tool usage, procurement, finance, and contracting requirements.
-
Identify opportunities to use AI and automation to improve workflows, scale operations, and reduce friction.
-
Develop repeatable frameworks and templates for agency engagement, production intake, media authorization workflows, and global campaign execution to reduce operational friction and improve speed-to-launch for global teams.
YOU MIGHT THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE:
-
15+ years of experience in marketing operations, procurement, sourcing, business affairs, commercial legal operations, or production operations.
-
Hands-on experience working with creative agencies, production companies, media partners, and marketing vendors.
-
Strong understanding of marketing production workflows, agency models, scopes of work, rate cards, vendor onboarding, contracting, and payment processes.
-
Experience partnering with Procurement, Legal, Finance, Operations, and senior Marketing stakeholders.
-
Sound judgment in balancing speed, compliance, cost, risk, and creative ambition.
-
Strong documentation, process design, change management, and stakeholder communication skills.
-
Comfort operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment where processes are still being built.
-
A solutions-oriented mindset and the ability to manage multiple workstreams without losing sight of detail.
NICE TO HAVES
-
Experience in the technology industry or with high-growth companies.
-
Experience building new operational functions, centers of excellence, or vendor governance models.
-
Familiarity with AI-related vendors, data, privacy, or workflow considerations.
-
Experience implementing tools, templates, dashboards, or training programs that scale operational excellence.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship in Operations Lead
Document your operations credentials before applying
Gather performance reviews, process improvement metrics, and scope-of-responsibility letters now. PERM requires your employer to prove the role's requirements match your background, so clear credential documentation speeds up the labor certification audit process.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Search Migrate Mate to filter Operations Lead roles by employers who have sponsored PERM cases before. Employers with prior EB-2 or EB-3 filings already have established relationships with immigration counsel and understand the multi-step sponsorship process.
Verify the role qualifies under EB-2 or EB-3
Check the O*NET occupation profile for Operations Lead to confirm the role is classified as requiring a bachelor's degree. Roles requiring a bachelor's plus progressive experience typically qualify for EB-2; those requiring a bachelor's degree alone often fit EB-3.
Understand the PERM prevailing-wage requirement for your region
Your employer must pay at or above the DOL prevailing wage for your specific job zone and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the wage level for Operations Lead positions in your target metro area before salary negotiations.
Plan for the PERM recruitment waiting period
DOL requires employers to run a supervised recruitment campaign for at least 30 days before submitting your PERM application. Factor this into your start-date and status-maintenance timeline, especially if you're transitioning from a temporary work visa.

Find Operations Lead JobsOperations Lead Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Operations Lead role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Operations Lead positions qualify for EB-3 sponsorship when the employer requires a bachelor's degree in business, operations management, supply chain, or a related field. If the role requires an advanced degree or the candidate has a master's degree plus specialized experience, EB-2 classification may apply. The employer's job description and your credentials together determine which category fits.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for an Operations Lead?
Green card sponsorship through PERM leads to permanent residency rather than a temporary status that expires. Unlike the H-1B, EB-3 petitions face no annual lottery, so your sponsorship doesn't depend on random selection. The tradeoff is timeline: the PERM labor certification and I-140 process typically takes one to three years before you can file for adjustment of status, compared to an H-1B approval in a few months.
What does the PERM labor certification process actually involve for employers hiring an Operations Lead?
PERM requires your sponsoring employer to conduct a supervised recruitment process, advertise the Operations Lead position publicly, and document that no qualified U.S. workers applied. The DOL reviews this evidence before certifying the labor certification. Once certified, the employer files an I-140 immigrant petition on your behalf with USCIS. The entire PERM stage can take six to eighteen months depending on DOL processing times and whether an audit is triggered.
How can I find Operations Lead jobs where employers are open to green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search Operations Lead roles specifically filtered for employers with PERM and employment-based green card sponsorship history. This saves significant time compared to applying broadly and asking each recruiter about sponsorship willingness, since employers listed have demonstrated prior commitment to the sponsorship process.
Can I switch employers after my green card sponsorship process has started?
Yes, under AC21 portability rules you can change employers after your I-140 has been approved and your I-485 adjustment of status application has been pending for 180 days or more, as long as the new role is in the same or similar occupational classification. For Operations Lead roles, this means moving to a comparable operations management position typically qualifies. USCIS evaluates the similarity of duties, not just the job title.
