Performance Engineer Green Card Jobs
Performance Engineer roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship when employers complete PERM labor certification with the DOL. Employers document that no qualified U.S. worker is available before sponsoring you permanently, making this one of the more structured paths to lawful permanent residency in software infrastructure.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Performance Engineer
Frame your resume around PERM job duties
PERM labor certification locks in a specific job description that must match your background. Structure your resume to mirror DOL-accepted duty language for performance engineering so employers can replicate it verbatim in the prevailing wage request.
Verify your degree qualifies for EB-2
EB-2 requires an advanced degree or a bachelor's plus five years of progressive experience. Performance engineering roles filed under SOC code 15-1252 routinely qualify, but get a credential evaluation now if your degree is from outside the U.S.
Target employers with PERM filing history
Search OFLC Wage Search to identify companies that have filed PERM applications for software or performance engineering titles. Employers with prior filings have established internal processes, which shortens your path from offer to I-140 approval significantly.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Search Migrate Mate to filter Performance Engineer openings by employers who have active green card sponsorship history. This surfaces roles where PERM infrastructure already exists, not just jobs where sponsorship is theoretically possible.
Confirm your employer is E-Verify enrolled
USCIS requires that employers sponsoring workers through adjustment of status demonstrate lawful hiring practices. E-Verify enrollment is not mandatory for all PERM sponsors, but non-enrollment can complicate the I-485 stage if you're adjusting status from within the U.S.

Find Performance Engineer JobsPerformance Engineer Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Performance Engineer role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Performance Engineer positions typically qualify for both categories. EB-2 applies when the role requires an advanced degree or you have a bachelor's degree plus five years of progressive experience in the field. EB-3 covers the role as a professional position requiring at least a bachelor's degree. Your employer chooses the category when filing the PERM labor certification, and the choice affects your priority date queue depending on your country of birth.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
H-1B is a temporary nonimmigrant status requiring renewal and subject to the annual lottery. Green card sponsorship through PERM leads to permanent residency with no renewal requirement. There is no annual cap on EB-3 petitions, so filing is possible year-round. The total timeline is longer, typically two to five years including PERM recruitment, I-140 approval, and the adjustment of status or consular processing stage.
How long does the PERM process take for a Performance Engineer position?
The PERM process typically runs six to twelve months from the start of DOL recruitment through labor certification approval. Your employer must conduct specific recruitment steps, document the results, and submit the application to DOL. Analyst review at DOL is currently one of the longer stages. After PERM approval, your employer files the I-140 petition with USCIS, which adds additional processing time before your priority date is established.
Where can I find Performance Engineer jobs that offer green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search Performance Engineer openings filtered by employers with documented green card sponsorship history. Focusing on employers who have filed PERM applications before is more reliable than asking in interviews, since it tells you which companies have already built the internal process needed to complete the multi-stage sponsorship correctly.
Can my employer sponsor me for a green card while I'm on H-1B as a Performance Engineer?
Yes. Many Performance Engineers on H-1B begin the PERM process while maintaining valid H-1B status. Under AC21 portability rules, you can also change employers after your I-140 is approved and your priority date is current, as long as the new role is in the same or similar occupational classification. Your employer must keep your H-1B status current throughout the PERM and I-140 stages.
