Sponsoring employers file an I-140 immigrant petition after PERM approval, putting you on a path to lawful permanent residency. Confirm that any offer explicitly covers sponsorship before accepting.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Pharmacy Intern
Verify your degree meets PERM requirements
PERM labor certification requires your employer to define a minimum qualification. Pharmacy Intern roles typically list enrollment in an accredited PharmD program. Get your foreign pharmacy credentials evaluated by a NACES-approved agency before your employer files.
Target hospital and health system employers
Large hospital networks and integrated health systems file PERM applications far more often than independent retail pharmacies. Focus your search on employers with established HR teams who have navigated DOL recruitment requirements and prevailing wage filings before.
Search green card sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Pharmacy Intern roles by employers with active green card sponsorship history. Seeing a company's PERM filing record upfront saves you from pursuing offers that will never lead to permanent residency.
Understand how prevailing wage affects your offer
Your employer must pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location before USCIS approves your I-140. Cross-check your offered wage against the OFLC Wage Search to confirm your employer's filing will meet DOL standards.
Time your PERM filing around your training milestone
PERM recruitment cannot begin until after you have completed supervised training hours required for licensure. Coordinate with your employer's immigration counsel so the DOL recruitment window opens as soon as you are eligible, avoiding unnecessary delays in your priority date.

Find Pharmacy Intern JobsPharmacy Intern Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Can a Pharmacy Intern role qualify for EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Yes. Pharmacy Intern positions qualify under EB-3 as a skilled worker or professional when the role requires enrollment in or completion of an accredited PharmD program. Your employer files a PERM application with DOL to certify that no qualified U.S. worker is available, then submits an I-140 petition to USCIS to formally sponsor your permanent residency.
How does PERM green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for pharmacy interns?
H-1B sponsorship is temporary, capped annually, and subject to a lottery for most applicants. PERM green card sponsorship has no annual lottery, leads to permanent residency rather than a time-limited status, and is not capped at the EB-3 category level for most nationalities. The tradeoff is timeline: the PERM recruitment and DOL review process typically adds 12 to 24 months before your I-140 can even be filed.
Where can I find Pharmacy Intern jobs that include green card sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search Pharmacy Intern openings filtered by employers with a documented PERM filing history. This removes guesswork about whether an employer will actually sponsor permanent residency, since you can see their past filing activity before you apply or negotiate an offer.
What role does the O*NET occupation profile play in a PERM application for pharmacy interns?
DOL uses O*NET occupation data to establish the job zone and typical education requirements for a Pharmacy Intern role. Your employer's attorney references this profile when drafting the job description and defending minimum qualifications during the PERM recruitment process. A misaligned job description that strays too far from the O*NET profile can trigger a DOL audit.
Do pharmacy intern employers usually cover PERM and I-140 filing costs?
Many hospital and health system employers cover attorney fees and government filing costs for PERM and I-140 as part of their sponsorship commitment, but this is not required by law. USCIS rules do prohibit employees from paying the employer's portion of PERM costs in some circumstances, so confirm the cost arrangement in writing before you sign an offer letter.
