Green Card QA Test Engineer Jobs
QA Test Engineer roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which permanently ties your status to a U.S. employer rather than a temporary visa. Employers file a prevailing-wage determination with DOL before recruiting, making early sponsorship conversations critical to your job search.

Align your credentials with PERM requirements
PERM requires your education and experience to match the job description exactly. If your QA role requires a bachelor's in computer science but your degree is in a related field, document equivalency through a credential evaluation before the employer posts the job.
Target employers with active EB-3 filing history
Search OFLC disclosure data for companies that have filed PERM applications under SOC code 15-1253 for quality assurance roles. Repeated filings in your target city signal a structured sponsorship process, not a one-off exception.
Search green card sponsoring QA roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters QA Test Engineer jobs by employers actively sponsoring employment-based green cards. Use it to identify roles where PERM sponsorship is already part of the offer, cutting out the guesswork of cold outreach.
Clarify EB-2 versus EB-3 eligibility before your offer
EB-2 requires an advanced degree or its equivalent; EB-3 covers professionals with a bachelor's degree. Ask the hiring manager which category they intend to sponsor before signing an offer, since the PERM job requirements are locked once filed.
Understand the prevailing wage before salary negotiations
DOL sets a prevailing wage for your specific QA role and work location before PERM is filed. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check the Level I through Level IV wage tiers so you can negotiate a salary that meets the requirement and avoids a DOL audit.
Start the priority date clock as early as possible
Your EB-2 or EB-3 priority date is set when USCIS receives the I-140 petition. For applicants from high-backlog countries, every month of delay extends your wait. Confirm your employer will file the I-140 promptly after PERM certification rather than deferring it.
Green Card QA Test Engineer: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a QA Test Engineer role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most QA Test Engineer positions qualify for EB-3 sponsorship as skilled workers requiring a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Roles requiring a master's degree or equivalent, or positions at a higher engineering level with specialized research components, may qualify for EB-2. The employer's job description and minimum requirements determine the category, not your personal credentials alone.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for a QA Test Engineer?
H-1B visa is a temporary status renewed every three years and subject to an annual lottery. EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through PERM leads to permanent residency with no annual cap at the petition level. The tradeoff is time: PERM labor certification alone takes six to eighteen months before USCIS even receives the I-140, making early employer buy-in essential for QA professionals planning long-term U.S. careers.
What does the PERM process look like for a QA Test Engineer role?
The employer first obtains a prevailing wage determination from DOL, then conducts a mandatory recruitment campaign to show no qualified U.S. workers are available. After filing the ETA-9089 with DOL, PERM certification typically takes six to eighteen months. USCIS then processes the I-140 immigrant petition, and you file for adjustment of status or consular processing once a visa number is available for your country.
How do I find QA Test Engineer jobs where the employer is already willing to sponsor a green card?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It surfaces QA Test Engineer roles at employers with active employment-based green card sponsorship history, so you can focus your applications on companies that have already committed to PERM filings rather than negotiating sponsorship from scratch during the interview process.
Can I switch employers during the green card process as a QA Test Engineer?
Changing employers resets the PERM process unless your I-140 has been approved and you have accrued 180 days of adjustment-of-status eligibility under AC21 portability. For QA Test Engineers from high-backlog countries, losing an approved I-140 priority date can mean years of additional waiting. Confirm your priority date situation and I-140 approval status before accepting any new offer.
