Green Card Radiologic Technologist Jobs
Radiologic Technologist roles qualify for EB-3 skilled worker sponsorship, and some senior or specialized imaging positions meet EB-2 advanced-degree criteria. Employers file a PERM labor certification with DOL before sponsoring your I-140 petition, making this a permanent residency pathway rather than a temporary work authorization.

Verify your ARRT credentials transfer cleanly
State licensure and ARRT certification are prerequisites most sponsoring employers list on their PERM job posting. Confirm your credentials are accepted in the state where the role is located before applying, since PERM is tied to that specific worksite.
Target health systems with PERM filing history
Large hospital networks and imaging center chains file PERM applications regularly and have in-house immigration counsel familiar with the radiologic technologist job category. Smaller outpatient clinics rarely navigate the sponsorship process and may withdraw offers once they see the timeline.
Search green card sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Radiologic Technologist openings by employers with active EB-3 sponsorship history. That filters out roles where sponsorship is offered in theory but rarely executed, saving you weeks of back-and-forth with recruiters.
Understand how PERM wage requirements affect your offer
Your employer must pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your SOC code and geographic area. Check the OFLC Wage Search before negotiating so you know whether an offer meets the minimum PERM threshold before the labor certification is filed.
Ask employers about concurrent I-140 and I-485 filing
If your priority date is current when the I-140 is approved, you can file the I-485 adjustment of status simultaneously. Confirming the employer's immigration counsel is set up to file concurrently can shorten your total green card timeline by several months.
Prepare your credential evaluation before the PERM posting
PERM requires the employer to post a job description with minimum requirements your credentials must meet. If your degree is from outside the U.S., get a foreign credential evaluation completed in advance so USCIS can confirm equivalency when the I-140 petition is reviewed.
Green Card Radiologic Technologist: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Radiologic Technologist role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Most Radiologic Technologist positions are sponsored under EB-3 as skilled worker roles, since the standard requirement is an associate degree plus ARRT certification. EB-2 is possible if the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field and the employer can document that requirement. Discuss the classification with the employer's immigration counsel before the PERM job description is drafted.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
The H-1B visa requires a specialty occupation with a bachelor's degree minimum, faces an annual cap with a lottery, and provides only temporary status. EB-3 green card sponsorship has no annual lottery, leads to permanent residency, and covers skilled worker roles like Radiologic Technologist that may not meet H-1B specialty occupation standards. The tradeoff is a longer process: PERM labor certification alone can take six to twelve months before the I-140 is even filed.
Can I find Radiologic Technologist jobs where employers have already committed to EB-3 sponsorship?
Yes. Migrate Mate lets you search Radiologic Technologist openings filtered by employers with verified green card sponsorship history, so you're not cold-approaching recruiters who have never navigated PERM. Focusing your search this way avoids the common situation where an employer agrees to sponsor in principle but stalls once the legal costs and timeline become clear.
What happens to my green card sponsorship if I change employers mid-process?
If you change employers before your I-140 is approved, the PERM certification is abandoned and the new employer must restart the process. If your I-140 is approved and you have a priority date with at least 180 days of I-485 pending, AC21 portability may let you move to a similar role without losing your place in the queue. Confirm the new position's SOC code matches closely enough before resigning.
Do I need to be currently working in the U.S. for an employer to start PERM sponsorship?
No. PERM sponsorship can begin while you're outside the U.S., though the process is the same. The employer files the labor certification regardless of your location. If you're abroad when the I-140 is approved and a visa number is available, you complete the process through consular processing rather than adjustment of status, but the green card outcome is identical.
