Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship in Senior Director Of Product
Audit your degree against EB-2 requirements
EB-2 requires an advanced degree or its equivalent. If your product leadership background combines a bachelor's degree with five or more years of progressive experience, document that equivalency carefully before targeting roles that specify EB-2 sponsorship.
Target companies with active PERM filing history
Search DOL's OFLC disclosure data for employers who have filed PERM applications for Senior Director or VP of Product titles. Companies with recent filings have established processes and legal teams familiar with sponsoring senior product roles.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified sponsoring employers
Searching broadly wastes time on companies that have never sponsored green cards. Migrate Mate filters Senior Director of Product openings to employers with documented PERM and I-140 filing history, cutting your search down to realistic targets.
Negotiate PERM filing into your offer terms
Most employers won't initiate PERM until after your start date, but you can negotiate a commitment to begin the process within a defined period. Get this in writing before signing, because verbal assurances rarely hold once onboarding begins.
Understand your priority date before accepting EB-3
For EB-3 filers born in India or China, visa bulletin backlogs can extend your wait by years even after PERM and I-140 approval. Check the USCIS Visa Bulletin for your category and country before deciding whether EB-3 or EB-2 better fits your timeline.
Check prevailing wage before the role is posted
DOL sets prevailing wages by job zone and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to verify your offer aligns with Level III or Level IV prevailing wages for product director roles in your metro, since underpayment causes PERM denial regardless of your qualifications.

Find Senior Director Of Product JobsSenior Director Of Product Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Senior Director of Product role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Senior Director of Product positions qualify under both EB-2 and EB-3, depending on your credentials. EB-2 applies if the role requires a master's degree or you have a bachelor's degree plus five years of progressive, specialized experience. EB-3 covers professionals with a bachelor's degree. Your employer's attorney will determine which category best fits the role description and your background.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for this role?
Unlike H-1B, employment-based green card sponsorship through PERM leads to permanent residency with no annual lottery and no maximum duration. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM labor certification, I-140 approval, and adjustment of status typically take two to four years for most countries. Applicants born in India or China face additional wait times due to per-country visa backlogs in both EB-2 and EB-3 categories.
What does the PERM labor certification process involve for a Senior Director of Product?
PERM requires your employer to conduct a supervised recruitment process showing no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role. DOL reviews the job description, recruitment steps, and prevailing wage compliance. For senior product roles, the job requirements must be tied to actual business necessity, and any minimum degree or experience requirements must reflect what the role genuinely demands, not what you happen to hold.
How can I find Senior Director of Product jobs where the employer will sponsor a green card?
The most reliable method is filtering for employers with documented PERM and I-140 filing history for comparable product leadership roles. Migrate Mate surfaces Senior Director of Product openings specifically from employers with verified green card sponsorship records, so you're not spending time on companies that have never navigated the PERM process for roles at this level.
Can I switch employers after my I-140 is approved without losing my place in line?
Yes, if your I-140 has been approved for 180 days or more and your adjustment of status application has been pending for at least 180 days, AC21 portability lets you change to a same or similar role without losing your priority date. For Senior Director of Product candidates, a move to a comparable product leadership position at another company typically satisfies the same-or-similar requirement, but your immigration attorney should confirm the job descriptions align.
