Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Sourcing Analyst
Match your degree to the role
PERM requires your degree field to align with the Sourcing Analyst position's stated requirements. A supply chain, business, or industrial engineering degree strengthens your EB-3 case; an MBA or operations-focused master's degree can support EB-2 eligibility.
Identify employers with PERM filing history
Search DOL's OFLC disclosure data to find companies that have filed PERM applications for sourcing or procurement roles. Employers who have sponsored before are far more likely to repeat the process than those encountering it for the first time.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Filter your Sourcing Analyst job search by green card sponsorship history on Migrate Mate. You'll surface employers who have already navigated PERM for comparable roles, cutting your research time and improving your targeting.
Request the prevailing wage tier before negotiating
Your employer's PERM application must certify a wage at or above the DOL prevailing wage for your location and job level. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check your metro area's Level I through Level IV rates before discussing compensation.
Clarify sponsorship timing during offer discussions
Ask whether the employer will file PERM within your first year or after a probationary period. Some companies delay sponsorship until 12 or 18 months of tenure, which affects how quickly your green card process can begin.
Gather procurement credentials that reinforce specialty occupation
Professional certifications such as CPSM or CSCP signal that your Sourcing Analyst role requires specialized knowledge, which supports the DOL requirement that the position is not general administrative work eligible for a non-degreed candidate.
Green Card Sourcing Analyst: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Sourcing Analyst roles qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Sourcing Analyst positions qualify under EB-3 as skilled workers requiring a bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or a related field. EB-2 sponsorship is possible if the role requires an advanced degree or your employer can demonstrate that the position involves specialized expertise beyond a standard four-year credential. USCIS evaluates the job requirements as written, so the offer letter and PERM application language both matter.
How does PERM green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for a Sourcing Analyst?
H-1B visa is a temporary status renewed every three years, subject to annual cap lottery uncertainty. PERM sponsorship leads to permanent residency and has no annual cap at the EB-3 level for most nationalities. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM labor certification, I-140 approval, and adjustment of status can take two to four years for cap-current countries, longer for nationals from India or China due to priority date backlogs.
What does the PERM labor certification process require from my employer?
Your employer must conduct a supervised recruitment campaign to demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available for the role. DOL reviews the prevailing wage, job description, and recruitment results before certifying the application. The employer bears the cost and filing burden. Your role is to ensure the job description accurately reflects your actual duties and that your credentials clearly meet the stated minimum requirements.
How can I find Sourcing Analyst jobs where the employer will sponsor a green card?
Migrate Mate lets you search Sourcing Analyst openings filtered by employers with documented green card sponsorship history, so you're not relying on job description language that may be vague or inaccurate. Targeting companies with prior PERM filings in procurement or supply chain roles significantly improves your chances of securing an offer that includes sponsorship.
Can I switch employers after my PERM is filed but before I get my green card?
Changing employers after PERM certification but before I-140 approval restarts the process entirely. Once your I-140 is approved and your priority date is established, portability rules under AC21 allow you to change to a same or similar role after your I-485 has been pending for at least 180 days. A Sourcing Analyst moving to a comparable procurement position generally qualifies, but the new employer must confirm they'll continue the sponsorship.
