Transportation Manager Green Card Jobs
Transportation Manager roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through PERM labor certification, which requires employers to document that no qualified U.S. worker is available before filing your I-140 petition. Logistics, freight, and supply-chain employers regularly sponsor foreign professionals for permanent residency in this role.

Match your credentials to the right EB category
EB-2 requires a master's degree or a bachelor's plus five years of progressive transportation management experience. EB-3 covers roles needing a bachelor's degree. Confirm which category your employer intends to file under before signing an offer letter.
Target employers with active PERM filings
Freight carriers, third-party logistics providers, and port operators file PERM applications regularly for Transportation Manager roles. Search DOL disclosure data to verify that a prospective employer has sponsored this specific job title before, not just other positions.
Document your progressive management experience carefully
PERM requires the employer to define minimum job requirements. If your resume shows gaps between supervisory roles or uses titles that don't match standard DOL classifications, USCIS may question whether your experience meets the stated requirements during I-140 adjudication.
Understand the prevailing wage before negotiating your offer
Your employer must pay at least the DOL-certified prevailing wage for your region and job zone. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the Level I through Level IV wage tiers for Transportation Managers in your target metro before your salary discussion.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers faster
Sorting job listings by sponsorship history saves weeks of outreach to companies that won't sponsor. Migrate Mate filters Transportation Manager openings by employers with green card filing records, so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already part of the hiring process.
Ask about PERM timing relative to your current visa status
PERM labor certification alone takes six to twelve months before your employer can file the I-140. If you're on H-1B, confirm your authorized stay covers the full PERM-to-I-140 window, or discuss whether your employer will file an extension concurrently.

Find Transportation Manager JobsTransportation Manager Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Transportation Manager roles qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Transportation Manager positions can qualify under either EB-2 or EB-3 depending on how the employer defines the role. EB-2 applies when the job genuinely requires an advanced degree or the candidate has a bachelor's plus at least five years of progressive management experience. EB-3 covers roles requiring a bachelor's degree. The employer sets the minimum requirements during PERM labor certification, and those requirements must reflect what the job actually needs, not what you personally hold.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for Transportation Managers?
H-1B is a temporary status with a three-year initial period, a lottery cap, and no guaranteed path to permanent residency. Green card sponsorship through PERM and I-140 is a permanent immigration benefit with no annual cap at the EB-3 level for most countries outside India and China. The process takes longer, typically two to four years from PERM filing to adjustment of status approval, but it results in lawful permanent residency rather than a visa that must be renewed.
What does the PERM labor certification process involve for this role?
PERM requires your employer to conduct a formal recruitment campaign, including job postings, newspaper advertisements, and internal notices, to demonstrate no qualified U.S. worker is available for the Transportation Manager position. DOL reviews the recruitment results before certifying the application. The employer then files Form I-140 with USCIS using the certified PERM as evidence of eligibility. You can search O*NET for the occupational classification DOL uses to benchmark this role.
How do I find Transportation Manager jobs where employers will actually sponsor a green card?
Most job postings don't specify whether the employer will sponsor permanent residency, which makes filtering by sponsorship intent difficult through general searches. Migrate Mate lets you search Transportation Manager roles specifically filtered by employers with documented green card filing histories, so you can direct your applications toward companies that have already committed to sponsoring foreign workers in this job category.
Can I change employers after my PERM is filed but before I get my green card?
Yes, under AC21 portability rules you can change employers once your I-140 is approved and your I-485 adjustment of status application has been pending for at least 180 days, as long as the new role is in the same or a similar occupational classification. For Transportation Managers, a move to a comparable logistics or operations management role at a new employer generally qualifies, but you should confirm the job duties align before making the switch.
