Green Card Wealth Management Associate Jobs
Wealth Management Associate roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which permanently ties your residency to a U.S. employer rather than a temporary visa status. Financial services firms regularly sponsor foreign professionals in client-facing and portfolio advisory positions where a finance or economics degree is a firm requirement.

Verify your degree meets EB-2 standards
Wealth management roles typically require a bachelor's in finance, economics, or a related field. For EB-2 eligibility, you need a U.S. master's equivalent or a bachelor's plus five years of progressive specialized experience documented in writing.
Target firms with active PERM filing history
Large broker-dealers, regional banks, and registered investment advisors file PERM applications regularly. Prioritize employers who have certified PERM applications for financial analyst or advisor roles, since that filing history signals they understand the sponsorship process for this job category.
Search sponsoring employers using Migrate Mate
Filter by occupation and green card sponsorship history to find firms actively hiring Wealth Management Associates on EB-2 or EB-3 pathways. Migrate Mate surfaces employer-level PERM data so you can focus your applications on verified sponsors.
Get FINRA licensing before your PERM starts
Series 7 and Series 66 licenses are standard requirements for Wealth Management Associates. Holding these before your employer files PERM strengthens the prevailing-wage determination and reduces the risk of a DOL audit over job duties that require licensure.
Confirm the prevailing wage using OFLC Wage Search
Your employer's offered salary must meet or exceed the DOL prevailing wage for your specific role and location before PERM is filed. Cross-check the OFLC Wage Search using the correct SOC code for wealth management to catch any discrepancy early.
Clarify I-140 timing before accepting an offer
Once PERM is certified, your employer files the I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. Ask during negotiations whether they'll file the I-140 concurrently and whether they'll support portability under AC21 if your priority date backlogs while you're waiting.
Green Card Wealth Management Associate: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Wealth Management Associate roles qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Wealth Management Associate positions qualify under EB-3 for skilled workers, since they require at least a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Roles requiring an advanced degree or involving portfolio strategy at a higher level may qualify under EB-2. Your employer's PERM application specifies which category fits the job duties and minimum requirements they've defined for the position.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
Green card sponsorship through PERM leads to permanent residency, not a temporary status with renewal cycles. There's no annual cap lottery at the EB-3 level for most nationalities, though Indian and Chinese nationals face priority date backlogs. H-1B visa sponsorship requires lottery selection and expires after six years without a green card filing. PERM-based sponsorship takes longer upfront but removes the uncertainty of repeat lottery entries and visa expirations.
What does the PERM labor certification process involve for a wealth management role?
PERM requires your employer to conduct a supervised recruitment process proving no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role. DOL reviews the application and, if certified, your employer files the I-140 with USCIS. For wealth management positions, the employer must document specific degree and licensing requirements, since overly broad job descriptions can trigger an audit. The entire PERM and I-140 phase typically takes eight to eighteen months before you can file for adjustment of status.
How do I find Wealth Management Associate jobs that offer green card sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search for Wealth Management Associate positions filtered by employers with confirmed PERM filing history. Many financial services firms sponsor quietly and don't advertise it in job postings, so searching by historical sponsorship data is more reliable than filtering by job description keywords alone.
Can my employer start PERM sponsorship while I'm on an H-1B or OPT?
Yes. Employers can file PERM while you hold H-1B status or are authorized to work on OPT. Starting the PERM process early is strategically useful because your priority date locks in when the application is filed, not when it's approved. If you're on OPT, your employer should file early enough that the I-140 is approved before your work authorization expires, or that you've transitioned to H-1B status in the meantime.
