Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship in Cardiovascular Technologist
Verify your RCIS or RCES certification status
USCIS adjudicators scrutinize whether cardiovascular tech roles meet specialty occupation standards. Having active credentialing from Cardiovascular Credentialing International strengthens your petition and reduces the risk of a Request for Evidence on degree equivalency.
Search LCA filings by occupation code
Use the OFLC Wage Search and filter by SOC code 29-2031 to identify hospitals and cardiology groups that have filed Labor Condition Applications for cardiovascular technologists. Employers with recent filings are already familiar with the H-1B process for this role.
Target ACGME-affiliated hospitals and large health systems
Teaching hospitals affiliated with graduate medical education programs sponsor H-1B visas far more consistently than independent clinics. These employers have dedicated HR and legal infrastructure that handles I-129 petitions routinely, which speeds up your offer-to-filing timeline.
Use Migrate Mate to filter employers by H-1B filing history
Search cardiovascular technologist roles on Migrate Mate to see which employers have active LCA filings for this occupation code. You'll skip outreach to employers unfamiliar with sponsorship and focus on those with a documented H-1B track record in cardiac care.
Clarify modality specialization before the offer stage
Echo, cath lab, and electrophysiology roles each map to different LCA wage levels and job descriptions. Confirm with the employer which specialty your role covers before the petition is drafted so the I-129 accurately reflects your duties and prevents RFE delays.
Confirm prevailing wage level before accepting an offer
Your employer must pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your specific role and metro area. Cross-check the offered salary against the OFLC Wage Search for SOC 29-2031 at your work location before signing so there are no compliance issues after filing.

Find Cardiovascular Technologist JobsCardiovascular Technologist H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Cardiovascular Technologist role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
Yes, cardiovascular technologist positions generally qualify when the employer requires at minimum an associate degree plus professional certification such as RCIS or RCES, or a bachelor's degree in cardiovascular technology or a related allied health field. USCIS evaluates each petition individually, so the job description must explicitly state the degree requirement rather than listing it as preferred.
Which employers sponsor H-1B visas for Cardiovascular Technologist jobs?
Large hospital systems, academic medical centers, and multi-site cardiology practices are the most consistent H-1B sponsors for this role. You can identify employers with active filings by reviewing DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data filtered to SOC code 29-2031. Migrate Mate surfaces this filing history by employer so you can target your search to verified sponsors in your preferred metro area.
Can my H-1B petition be filed for a contract or per-diem cardiovascular tech position?
H-1B visas require a bona fide employer-employee relationship, meaning the sponsoring employer must control your work, set your hours, and be responsible for your wages. Per-diem or staffing agency arrangements can satisfy this if the agency is the petitioner, but short-term contracts complicate continuity of status. USCIS scrutinizes these arrangements closely, so confirm with the employer that the position is structured as a direct hire or a qualifying employer-employee relationship through a staffing firm.
What happens to my H-1B status if my hospital closes its cath lab or eliminates the position?
If your employer terminates your position, you have a 60-day grace period to find a new sponsoring employer, change to another visa status, or prepare to depart. A new employer must file an H-1B transfer petition, which allows you to start working upon filing if you're maintaining valid status. Act immediately rather than waiting for the grace period to run down, since finding a new sponsor and gathering documentation takes time.
Does the H-1B annual cap apply to cardiovascular tech roles at nonprofit hospitals?
Cardiovascular technologist positions at nonprofit hospitals that qualify as institutions of higher education or affiliated research organizations may be cap-exempt, allowing filing at any time without entering the lottery. Most large academic medical centers fall into this category. For-profit hospital systems and private cardiology practices are cap-subject, meaning your petition must go through the annual H-1B lottery held each March for an October 1 start date.
