Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship as an Oncology Account Manager
Verify your degree supports specialty occupation
USCIS requires a direct relationship between your degree field and the Oncology Account Manager role. A life sciences, pharmacy, or business degree strengthens the specialty occupation argument. A general degree may require additional documentation tying your coursework to the role.
Target pharma employers with active LCA histories
Search the OFLC Wage Search for employers who have filed LCAs under oncology or pharmaceutical sales job titles. Repeat filings signal an established H-1B sponsorship practice, not a one-off hire that HR hasn't navigated before.
Filter H-1B sponsors by territory on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to identify oncology employers with verified H-1B filing history by region. Matching your current territory experience to a sponsor's active coverage area strengthens your case before the first conversation.
Clarify transfer timing before accepting an offer
H-1B transfers let you start with a new oncology employer once USCIS receives the petition, not after approval. Confirm your prospective employer files immediately upon offer acceptance so your authorization gap stays within the 60-day grace period if you're between roles.
Document your specialty drug and account credentials
Oncology H-1B petitions benefit from evidence that your role requires specialized knowledge. Compile therapeutic area certifications, formulary training records, and key account documentation. These reinforce the employer's specialty occupation argument if USCIS issues a Request for Evidence.
Confirm the employer's prevailing wage level matches your offer
DOL requires LCA wages to meet the prevailing wage for your job title and work location. Cross-check your offer against the OFLC Wage Search for your SOC code before signing. A wage below prevailing level will block LCA certification regardless of employer intent.

Find Oncology Account Manager JobsOncology Account Manager H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Oncology Account Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
Yes, when the employer can demonstrate the position normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as life sciences, pharmacy, or business administration. Roles focused on complex oncology biologics or specialty therapeutics carry a stronger specialty occupation argument than generalist medical sales positions. Your employer documents this requirement in the H-1B petition through the LCA and supporting evidence.
How do I find oncology employers who actively sponsor H-1B visas?
Search Migrate Mate to browse Oncology Account Manager roles filtered for employers with verified H-1B filing history. Looking at DOL LCA disclosure data through the OFLC Wage Search also shows which pharma and biotech companies have filed for this job title by location, giving you a concrete shortlist before you apply.
Can I transfer my H-1B to a new oncology employer without losing work authorization?
You can start working for the new employer as soon as USCIS receives the transfer petition, provided you're currently in valid H-1B status. This portability rule under AC21 means you don't need to wait for approval. Confirm your new employer files the petition on or before your start date to avoid any gap in authorization.
What happens to my H-1B sponsorship if my territory or employer changes mid-visa period?
A territory reassignment within the same employer typically doesn't require a new H-1B petition unless the worksite moves to a different metropolitan statistical area. A new LCA is required for a material change in work location. A full employer change requires a fresh H-1B transfer petition. USCIS guidance on material changes governs what triggers a new filing.
Does the H-1B annual cap affect Oncology Account Manager candidates already in H-1B status?
If you're already counted against the cap from a prior H-1B, transfers to new oncology employers don't require re-entering the lottery. First-time H-1B applicants at for-profit pharma and biotech companies must go through the annual USCIS registration process, with selection typically announced in the spring for an October 1 start date.
