Position Purpose:
This role supports enterprise content development by helping bring the corporate narrative to life across high-priority storytelling efforts mainly as a writer and editor. It applies strong narrative judgment and message discipline to ensure content is clear, consistent, and aligned with company priorities.
The main focus of the role is providing editorial guidance that shapes the storytelling and narrative approach for requests for proposals (RFPs), supporting both re-procurements and new business opportunities. The role defines the core story and key messages that run through proposal narratives and works closely with our RFP writers and subject matter experts to ensure the narrative is accurate, clear, cohesive, and compelling. Technical and operational response content is handled by other teams, allowing this role to stay focused on guiding what story is told.
- Serves as a lead editorial partner for enterprise proposal development, shaping and refining priority content to ensure proposal narratives clearly articulate and reinforce the corporate value proposition and enterprise story.
- Applies rigorous editorial standards—including voice, tone, structure, and narrative flow—across all proposal components, ensuring a unified story from executive summary through supporting sections.
- Acts as a senior narrative editor, collaborating with cross-functional subject matter experts to translate complex, technical, or operational content into compelling, client-focused narrative sections that support the overall proposal strategy.
- Extends proposal storytelling disciplines and editorial best practices to other high-impact enterprise content initiatives as needed, applying the same narrative rigor used in competitive pursuits.
- Ensures all content adheres to applicable policies, procedures, brand, and editorial standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience required
6+ years writing experience in RFP response development, preferably in managed care or other entities in the healthcare industry required
Pay Range: $107,700.00 - $199,300.00 per year
Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives. Benefits may be subject to program eligibility.
Centene is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity, and values the ways in which we are different. Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship as a Content Editor
Verify your role meets specialty occupation
USCIS requires your Content Editor position to demand a specific bachelor's degree, not just any degree. Review the O*NET occupation profile for editors to confirm the degree-field alignment before applying to roles.
Target employers with LCA filing history
Search Migrate Mate's employer database to find companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications for editorial roles. Active LCA history signals a sponsorship-ready HR process, not a first-time attempt.
Document your editorial specialization clearly
Generalist writing experience weakens H-1B petitions. Build a portfolio that demonstrates a defined specialty: SEO content strategy, technical editing, or a specific industry vertical. USCIS adjudicators look for degree-to-role specificity.
Ask employers about cap-exempt filing options
Universities, nonprofits, and certain research institutions are cap-exempt, letting them file H-1B petitions year-round without lottery exposure. Content Editor roles at academic publishers or university marketing teams often fall under this category.
Use the OFLC Wage Search before negotiating
Your employer's LCA must certify a wage at or above the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location. Run the OFLC Wage Search for your job title and metro area so you negotiate from an accurate baseline.

Find Content Editor JobsContent Editor H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Content Editor role qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as communications, journalism, English, or marketing. Roles that accept any degree regardless of field are harder to approve. Your employer's job description should specify the required degree field, and your credentials should match it directly.
Which types of employers sponsor H-1B visas for Content Editors?
Tech companies, digital media publishers, e-commerce brands, healthcare systems, and enterprise software firms are consistent H-1B sponsors for editorial roles. Universities and nonprofits can file year-round as cap-exempt employers. Browse Content Editor roles filtered by H-1B sponsorship history on Migrate Mate to identify active sponsors in your target industry.
What documents should I prepare before a Content Editor H-1B petition?
Your employer will need your academic transcripts, degree certificates, and a credentials evaluation if your degree is from outside the U.S. For editorial roles, a portfolio demonstrating specialized expertise strengthens the specialty occupation argument. If your degree is in a field adjacent to your role, a formal credential evaluation from a NACES-member organization helps USCIS establish equivalency.
Can a Content Editor role support an H-1B if I have a degree in a different field?
Possibly, but it requires stronger documentation. USCIS accepts alternative qualifications if you can demonstrate that three years of specialized work experience substitutes for one year of formal education. A graduate degree in a related field can also help bridge the gap. An immigration attorney can assess whether your specific combination of education and experience is defensible.
How does the H-1B lottery affect Content Editor job seekers?
Most Content Editor roles fall under the standard H-1B cap, meaning your petition enters the annual lottery held in March for an October 1 start date. If you're not selected, you can re-register the following year or pursue cap-exempt employers in the interim. Premium processing is available for an additional USCIS fee and speeds up adjudication to 15 business days once selected.
