H-1B Visa Digital Product Management Jobs
Digital Product Management roles qualify for H-1B visa sponsorship as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Employers file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before petitioning USCIS. Most product management positions are cap-subject, so timing your offer around the April filing window matters.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship in Digital Product Management
Align your degree to the role
Product management draws scrutiny because the degree-to-job connection isn't always obvious. Frame your credentials around computer science, information systems, or business, whichever field directly maps to the specific responsibilities in your offer letter.
Check LCA filings before applying
Use the OFLC Wage Search to confirm an employer has filed Labor Condition Applications for product management roles before spending time on their process. Past LCA activity signals they understand H-1B sponsorship requirements for this job category.
Verify your role against O*NET
USCIS evaluates whether your job qualifies as a specialty occupation. Pull the O*NET profile for your exact product management title and confirm it lists a bachelor's degree in a specific field as the standard entry requirement, not a general preference.
Target employers already enrolled in E-Verify
E-Verify enrollment is required for employers sponsoring H-1B workers in certain situations and signals institutional readiness. Prioritize companies already enrolled so you're not the first sponsored hire they're figuring out how to process.
Find H-1B sponsors through Migrate Mate
Filter for Digital Product Management roles on Migrate Mate to see employers with verified H-1B filing history in your occupation. This cuts out companies that list sponsorship as possible but have no track record of actually filing.
Time your offer letter before the registration window
H-1B cap registrations open in March for an October 1 start date. Get your offer letter finalized in February at the latest so your employer can register you on time. Missing the window means waiting a full year.
H-1B Visa Digital Product Management: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Digital Product Management role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
It depends on how the role is defined. A product management position qualifies if it requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field directly related to the job duties. Generalist titles like 'Product Manager' can face RFEs if the employer's job description accepts any bachelor's degree. Roles tied to a specific domain, such as technical product management or platform product management in software, carry stronger specialty occupation arguments.
Which employers sponsor H-1B visas for product management roles?
Technology companies, enterprise software firms, and fintech companies file the most H-1B petitions for product management positions. The most reliable way to identify them is to check DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data, which shows which employers have filed for this job category. Migrate Mate surfaces this data directly so you can search Digital Product Management roles filtered by verified H-1B filing history.
What documentation strengthens an H-1B petition for a product management role?
Your offer letter should specify that a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a closely related field is required, not just preferred. Supporting materials that tie your degree to your product responsibilities, such as a detailed job duties breakdown, help USCIS evaluate specialty occupation status. Your employer's attorney will typically prepare a support letter explaining why the role requires your specific academic background.
Can I switch product management jobs after my H-1B is approved?
Yes, through H-1B portability. If you've had your H-1B approved and have been working for at least 180 days since your status was first authorized, you can start a new product management job as soon as your new employer files an H-1B transfer petition, even before USCIS approves it. The new role must still qualify as a specialty occupation, and your new employer takes on the prevailing wage obligations under DOL rules.
How does the H-1B cap affect product management job timing?
Most product management positions at private companies are subject to the annual H-1B cap of 85,000 visas. USCIS opens registration in March, selects registrations by lottery, and sets an October 1 start date for selected petitions. If you're not selected, you typically can't start that role until the following fiscal year unless you qualify for a cap-exempt employer such as a university, nonprofit research organization, or government research institution.
