This role sits at the intersection of revenue, customer relationships, and product adoption — and will play a critical role in how Nanonets scales in the US market.

- Own and drive Net Revenue Retention (NRR) across the US customer portfolio
- Build, manage, and scale a team of high-performing Account Managers
- Define and implement account management strategy, including expansion, renewal, and engagement playbooks
- Establish clear revenue targets and performance metrics for the team
- Personally manage and grow a set of strategic, high-value accounts
- Identify and drive expansion opportunities across business units, geographies, and product lines
- Lead complex renewal and commercial negotiations, including multi-year agreements
- Partner closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering to align customer needs with roadmap and execution
- Build systems and processes from the ground up to support scale
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
- 8+ years of experience in Account Management, Customer Success, or other revenue-owning roles
- 2–3+ years of experience managing and scaling high-performing teams
- Experience working in a high-growth startup environment
- Proven track record of owning and driving Net Revenue Retention (NRR), including expansions and renewals
- Experience working with mid-market and/or enterprise customers
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to lead complex negotiations and multi-year deals
- Ability to operate with high ownership in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience in AI, automation, or data-heavy products
- Experience building Account Management or Customer Success functions from early stages
- Background in complex, multi-product or multi-region account growth
- Experience partnering closely with Product and Engineering teams

Verify your degree field aligns precisely
USCIS scrutinizes Director of Account Management petitions because the role can attract RFEs questioning whether a specific degree is required. Pull the O*NET profile for this occupation and match your degree field to the listed education requirements before applying.
Target LCA-active employers in SaaS and enterprise software
Use Migrate Mate to filter Director of Account Management openings by employers with verified LCA filing history in your target industry. This narrows your list to companies that have already cleared DOL prevailing-wage certification for this title.
Check prevailing wage levels before negotiating offers
Run your target job title and location through the OFLC Wage Search before entering salary discussions. Your offer must meet at least the Level II or III prevailing wage for your metro area, and many account management director roles fall at Level III or IV.
Document your client portfolio and revenue impact
USCIS wants evidence the role requires specialized expertise, not just management experience. Compile records showing managed account revenue, client retention rates, and cross-functional leadership scope to support the specialty occupation argument in your I-129 petition.
Clarify cap-exempt status with your target employer
Universities, nonprofit research institutions, and certain government-affiliated entities are cap-exempt, meaning you skip the lottery entirely. If you're targeting an enterprise with a university partnership or nonprofit affiliate, ask HR whether that entity can sponsor you instead.
Negotiate timeline expectations around premium processing
Standard H-1B processing can run three to six months. If your target employer is replacing an outgoing director and needs faster placement, ask whether they'll authorize USCIS premium processing, which moves adjudication to 15 business days for an additional government fee.

Find Director Of Account Management JobsDirector Of Account Management H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Director of Account Management role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
Yes, but USCIS evaluates each petition individually. The role must require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as business administration, marketing, or a directly related discipline. Generic management experience alone isn't enough. Your employer's petition needs to demonstrate that the position's duties require specialized theoretical and practical knowledge, not just general industry familiarity.
Which industries file the most H-1B petitions for Director of Account Management roles?
Enterprise software, SaaS platforms, financial services, management consulting, and telecommunications consistently file LCAs for this title. These industries rely on directors who manage complex, multi-stakeholder client relationships that require specialized product or technical knowledge, which supports the specialty occupation standard. You can browse verified H-1B-sponsoring employers in these industries on Migrate Mate.
Can I transfer my H-1B to a new employer for a Director of Account Management role?
Yes, H-1B portability under AC21 lets you start working for a new employer as soon as they file a transfer petition, provided your current H-1B has been approved for at least 180 days. The new employer files a new I-129 petition. You don't need to restart the lottery if you're already in H-1B status.
How does the prevailing wage requirement affect Director of Account Management offers?
The employer must certify through a DOL Labor Condition Application that your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for the role in your work location. Director-level account management positions typically map to Level III or Level IV wages under OFLC classifications. You can look up the applicable wage floor using the OFLC Wage Search before evaluating any offer.
Will a promotion from Account Manager to Director require a new H-1B petition?
It depends on whether the promotion constitutes a material change in duties, location, or compensation. A same-employer promotion that substantially changes job duties or moves you to a different worksite typically requires an amended I-129 petition. Your employer's immigration counsel should evaluate whether the change triggers an amendment, but you can continue working during the process.
