H-1B Visa Release Manager Jobs
Release Manager roles qualify for H-1B sponsorship as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Employers file an LCA with the DOL before petitioning USCIS, and the annual cap means timing your job search around the April lottery window matters.

Who We Are
AeroVect is transforming ground handling with autonomy, redefining how airlines and ground service providers around the globe run day-to-day operations. We are a Series A company backed by top-tier venture capital investors in aviation and autonomous driving. Our customers include some of the world’s largest airlines and ground handling providers.
The Deployment & Release Manager is responsible for ensuring that AeroVect’s Autonomous Ground Support Equipment (AGSE) service deployments are safe and reliable, specifically the AV fleet.
This role requires a unique blend of balancing system level overviews and subsystem level details. The candidate will work directly with the Director of Safety, Systems, and Product and the VP of Engineering to develop and own processes that support and empower data-driven development while ensuring safe deployments and scaling.
You Will
- Own and drive the process to evaluate and approve deployments for defined Operational Design Domains (ODDs)
- Ensure that only the system and vehicles that have been verified, validated, and approved are deployed accordingly
- Support the bringup process for new AVs, from receipt to commissioning to first autonomous missions
- Own and drive the release process to evaluate and approve recurring SW updates, including gates, QA, etc.
- Partner with Engineering and Safety & Systems to verify that new software releases meet required criteria through simulation, closed course, shadow mode, and preliminary supervised testing before production rollout
- Schedule and execute software updates to the fleet, ensuring zero downtime during peak operational hours while maintaining 100% readiness for reversion protocols
- Define, document, and maintain the chosen configuration for every vehicle type (e.g., components, firmware versions, system parameters, connectivity settings, etc.)
- Own and drive the change management process and lead the board that reviews all requested changes from the chosen configuration (e.g., swapping a sensor)
- Maintain documentation of all changes with supporting artifacts in compliance with regulator and customer needs
You Have
- BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace, or equivalent preferred
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with developing and managing safety-critical autonomous deployments
- Strong understanding of software development, system architecture, and cloud infrastructure
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage XFN teams to align on a unified process vision and deliver against it
- Ability to articulate technical issues and solutions to all levels of the business, within and beyond the engineering communities
We Prefer
- MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or other related technical disciplines
- Experience with fostering a safety culture in the context of aviation / airline or robotics applications
- Familiarity with airport/airline operations and / or the airside driving environment at major global airports
- Experience with safety standards in the development and deployment of complex autonomous systems (including but not limited to ISO 26262, ISO 21448, UL 4600, IEC 61508, ANSI B56.5, ISO3691, ANSI 15.08)

Map your degree to the role
USCIS scrutinizes whether your degree field directly relates to Release Manager duties. Document how your coursework in software engineering, DevOps, or systems management maps to CI/CD pipeline oversight and deployment coordination before your employer files.
Target employers with cap-exempt pathways
Universities, nonprofit research institutions, and government-affiliated entities are exempt from the H-1B cap. Release Manager roles exist at these organizations, and a cap-exempt offer lets your employer file any time instead of waiting for the April lottery.
Verify the LCA wage level before accepting
Your employer's LCA must certify a wage at or above the DOL prevailing wage for your occupation and location. Cross-check the offered wage tier against the OFLC Wage Search before signing an offer to catch underpayments that could complicate your petition.
Search verified H-1B sponsors on Migrate Mate
Filter Release Manager openings by employers with active H-1B LCA filing history on Migrate Mate. This surfaces companies that have already navigated the specialty occupation documentation for DevOps and release engineering roles, reducing your risk of an RFE.
Request premium processing before your OPT expires
If you're on OPT, ask your employer to file with USCIS premium processing so you get a decision within 15 business days. Standard processing during cap season can run past your OPT end date, and premium processing protects against a status gap.
Use O*NET to strengthen the specialty occupation case
Pull the Release Manager occupation profile from O*NET and confirm the listed education requirement is a bachelor's degree or higher. Share this with your employer's attorney before filing because USCIS sometimes challenges whether release engineering qualifies as a specialty occupation.

Find Release Manager JobsRelease Manager H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Release Manager role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
Yes, Release Manager qualifies when the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as computer science, software engineering, or information systems. The employer must show the role's duties, including CI/CD pipeline management and deployment coordination, are theoretical and practical enough to require that specific degree. USCIS sometimes issues RFEs for release engineering titles, so thorough job duty documentation matters.
How do I find employers who actively sponsor H-1B visas for Release Manager positions?
Search Migrate Mate to browse Release Manager openings filtered by employers with verified H-1B LCA filing history. This tells you which companies have already filed Labor Condition Applications for similar roles, meaning they understand the sponsorship process and aren't sponsoring for the first time with your petition.
What happens to my H-1B status if my Release Manager role changes scope significantly?
A material change in job duties, location, or employment terms requires your employer to file an amended H-1B petition with USCIS before the change takes effect. If your Release Manager role shifts from overseeing software deployments to a substantially different function, an unamended petition puts your status at risk during any future USCIS review or port of entry inspection.
Can a Release Manager role support an H-1B transfer to a new employer mid-year?
Yes. H-1B portability under AC21 lets you start working for a new employer as soon as they file a non-frivolous H-1B transfer petition, without waiting for approval, as long as your current H-1B has been approved for at least 180 days. Your new employer files a new LCA with the DOL and submits the transfer petition to USCIS. You don't need to wait for cap season.
Does working remotely as a Release Manager affect my H-1B LCA?
Yes. Your LCA is tied to the work location listed at filing. If you work remotely from a different Metropolitan Statistical Area than the certified location, your employer must file a new LCA covering that area before you begin working there. Short-term assignments under 60 days in a year may qualify for a short-term placement exception, but ongoing remote work in a different metro requires a properly certified LCA.
