H-1B Visa EHS Manager Jobs
EHS Manager roles qualify as H-1B specialty occupations because they typically require a bachelor's degree in environmental science, industrial hygiene, or a related field. Employers in manufacturing, construction, energy, and chemical sectors file LCAs with the DOL before sponsoring, and most cap-subject petitions compete in the annual April lottery.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship as an EHS Manager
Align your degree to EHS specialty occupation
USCIS scrutinizes whether your degree field directly relates to EHS management. A degree in environmental science, occupational health, or industrial hygiene strengthens your petition more than a general business or engineering degree, even with equivalent experience.
Search LCA filings for active EHS sponsors
Use the OFLC Wage Search to filter certified LCAs by Standard Occupational Classification code 11-9199, which covers EHS managers. Employers with recent filings are actively sponsoring, not just theoretically open to it.
Target cap-exempt employers in regulated industries
Hospitals, university research facilities, and nonprofit environmental organizations are cap-exempt H-1B employers. EHS roles at these institutions can be filed any time of year, bypassing the April lottery entirely and shortening your wait significantly.
Verify your prevailing wage tier before negotiating
Pull your role's DOL wage level using O*NET occupation code 11-9199.11 in the OFLC Wage Search before any offer discussion. Your employer's LCA must certify at least Level I, and knowing the tiers prevents you from accepting an offer that disqualifies the petition.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified EHS sponsoring employers
Filter Migrate Mate by EHS Manager roles to see employers with confirmed H-1B LCA filing history. This surfaces companies already familiar with the DOL and USCIS filing process, reducing the risk of an employer backing out mid-petition.
Negotiate premium processing into your offer terms
Standard USCIS adjudication runs several months, leaving you in status limbo if your current authorization has a hard end date. Request that your offer letter or employment agreement explicitly commits the employer to premium processing before you resign from your current role.

Find EHS Manager JobsEHS Manager H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an EHS Manager role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as environmental science, occupational health, industrial hygiene, or safety engineering. Generic job postings that list a degree as preferred rather than required can create specialty occupation problems during adjudication, so review the job description carefully before applying.
Which industries sponsor H-1B visas most often for EHS managers?
Manufacturing, chemical processing, construction, oil and gas, and semiconductor fabrication generate the highest volume of EHS LCA filings because OSHA compliance and environmental permitting requirements are operationally critical in those sectors. Hospitals and university research campuses also sponsor frequently and have the added advantage of cap-exempt status, which removes the lottery requirement.
How do I find EHS Manager jobs at H-1B sponsoring employers?
Migrate Mate filters EHS Manager roles by employers with verified H-1B LCA filing history, so you're applying to companies that have already completed the DOL certification process before. Cross-referencing OFLC Wage Search data by SOC code 11-9199 also lets you confirm which employers filed certifications in recent fiscal years.
Can my H-1B transfer to a new EHS Manager role during the 60-day grace period?
Yes. If your employment ends, you have a 60-day grace period to secure a new employer who files an H-1B transfer petition. Because EHS roles are often project-driven, confirm that the new position's job duties and degree requirements are documented clearly enough to satisfy USCIS's specialty occupation standard independently of your previous role.
Do EHS Manager salaries need to meet a DOL prevailing wage threshold for H-1B approval?
Yes. Before filing the I-129, your employer must submit a certified LCA to the DOL confirming the offered wage meets or exceeds the prevailing wage for your role at the work location. You can check the applicable wage levels for EHS Manager positions using the OFLC Wage Search filtered to SOC code 11-9199.11 and your specific metropolitan area.
