H-1B Visa Logistics Specialist Jobs
Logistics Specialist roles qualify for H-1B visa sponsorship when the position requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a closely related field. Employers in freight, e-commerce fulfillment, and third-party logistics regularly file LCAs for these roles. The H-1B cap applies, so timing your job search around the April lottery window matters.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship as a Logistics Specialist
Verify your degree supports specialty occupation
USCIS requires your degree field to directly relate to logistics coordination duties. A supply chain, operations management, or industrial engineering degree strengthens the specialty occupation argument. A general business degree may trigger an RFE if the employer can't tie coursework to the specific role.
Pull LCA filings before targeting employers
Use Migrate Mate to filter Logistics Specialist roles by verified LCA filing history, so you're only applying to employers with a documented record of H-1B sponsorship for this occupation code, not companies that sponsor engineers but have never filed for logistics roles.
Check prevailing wage tier before negotiating salary
Run your target job title and work location through the OFLC Wage Search before accepting an offer. Your employer's LCA must certify at least the prevailing wage for your experience level, so knowing the Level I through Level IV range tells you what floor the offer legally can't go below.
Target employers enrolled in E-Verify early
If you're on STEM OPT and your authorization expires before October 1, you need a cap-gap bridge. Only employers already enrolled in E-Verify can employ you during that gap period, so confirm E-Verify status before your offer letter stage, not after.
Align your offer letter start date with H-1B timing
H-1B employment can't begin before October 1 of the fiscal year for which you were selected. Negotiate a start date on or after October 1 and ask your employer to file premium processing through USCIS if you need a faster receipt confirmation before onboarding.
Use O*NET to frame your job duties precisely
Review the O*NET profile for Logistics Specialists before your employer drafts the LCA and I-129 job description. USCIS adjudicators compare petition language against standard occupation definitions, so duties that mirror the O*NET task list reduce the chance of a specialty occupation RFE.
H-1B Visa Logistics Specialist: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Logistics Specialist role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
It can, but it's not automatic. USCIS evaluates whether the specific position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. A logistics coordinator role at a large freight company with defined analytical duties is more defensible than a general operations role where any degree is accepted. Your employer's job description and the degree requirement stated in the posting both matter.
Which industries sponsor H-1B visas most consistently for Logistics Specialists?
Third-party logistics providers, e-commerce fulfillment operations, manufacturing companies with complex supply chains, and freight forwarding firms file LCAs for Logistics Specialist roles regularly. Government contractors managing supply chains for defense or infrastructure projects also sponsor. Migrate Mate lets you filter open roles by verified LCA filing history so you can focus on employers with an actual track record rather than guessing.
Can my employer file an LCA for a remote Logistics Specialist position?
Yes, but DOL requires the LCA to list every worksite location where you'll perform duties for more than 40 consecutive days. For remote roles, the prevailing wage determination must reflect your actual home worksite location, not the employer's headquarters. If you relocate after filing, your employer may need to file an amended LCA for the new work location before you start working there.
What happens to my H-1B if my employer loses a major contract and my role is eliminated?
Your employer is required to notify USCIS and withdraw the H-1B petition if your position is terminated. You then have a 60-day grace period to find a new sponsoring employer, change to another valid status, or depart the country. A new employer can file an H-1B transfer petition during that window, and you can begin working for them as soon as USCIS receives the petition, not after approval.
Does logistics experience at a foreign company count toward the specialty occupation argument?
Yes, prior work experience in a logistics or supply chain role can support the petition, especially if your degree field doesn't perfectly align with the job title. USCIS accepts equivalent experience under a three-for-one rule: three years of specialized experience can substitute for one year of formal education. Your employer should document this clearly in the I-129 support letter, citing specific projects and responsibilities.
