Verify your degree supports specialty occupation
USCIS requires your bachelor's degree to directly relate to the Logistics Coordinator role. A degree in supply chain, operations management, or business logistics is the strongest match. An unrelated degree paired with logistics coursework can trigger an RFE.
Use OFLC Wage Search before negotiating salary
Your employer's LCA must certify a wage at or above the DOL prevailing wage for Logistics Coordinators in your work location. Pull the OFLC Wage Search data yourself before salary discussions so you know the Level I through Level IV thresholds for your metro area.
Target employers enrolled in E-Verify
E-Verify enrollment is required for STEM OPT employers and federal contractors. For Logistics Coordinator roles at distribution hubs or defense-adjacent supply chains, confirming E-Verify enrollment before applying tells you the employer already handles employment verification compliance.
Find logistics employers with H-1B filing history on Migrate Mate
Search Migrate Mate to filter Logistics Coordinator openings by employers who have filed H-1B LCAs for this occupation code. That filing history confirms the employer understands the sponsorship process, reducing delays once you receive an offer.
Clarify worksite arrangements before the LCA is filed
Logistics Coordinators often rotate between warehouses, ports, or client sites. Each worksite outside the certified LCA location requires a separate posting and may require an amended petition. Get your employer to specify your primary worksite in the LCA before filing.

Find Logistics Coordinator JobsLogistics Coordinator H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Logistics Coordinator role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
It depends on how the employer defines the position. USCIS scrutinizes logistics roles because some coordinator jobs don't require a specific bachelor's degree. Roles that require a degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or operations research have a stronger specialty occupation argument. Generic coordinator titles with a preference rather than a requirement for a degree are more likely to receive an RFE.
Which industries sponsor H-1B visas most often for Logistics Coordinator roles?
E-commerce fulfillment, freight forwarding, third-party logistics providers, and manufacturing companies with complex supply chains file LCAs for Logistics Coordinators regularly. Import and export operations at major ports also generate sponsorship demand. You can confirm which specific employers have filed for this occupation by searching Migrate Mate, which surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application data by role and employer.
How does the prevailing wage requirement work for Logistics Coordinator H-1B petitions?
Your employer must pay you at least the DOL prevailing wage for Logistics Coordinators in your specific work location, as certified on the LCA. The wage level depends on your experience and job duties, ranging from Level I for entry-level tasks to Level IV for senior responsibilities. Use the OFLC Wage Search tool to look up the wage for your SOC code and location before your employer files.
Can a Logistics Coordinator job that involves multiple warehouses or worksites create H-1B complications?
Yes. Each worksite where you'll work for more than a few days must be covered by the LCA. If your role requires rotating between facilities in different metro areas, your employer may need to post LCA notices at each location and potentially file an amended I-129 petition if a new worksite wasn't included in the original filing. Clarify your worksite arrangements with your employer before the petition is submitted.
What O*NET occupation code applies to Logistics Coordinator roles for H-1B purposes?
Logistics Coordinators typically fall under the O*NET occupation code for Logisticians or, in some cases, Purchasing Agents or Production, Planning, and Expediting Clerks, depending on actual job duties. The SOC code your employer selects for the LCA affects the prevailing wage level and USCIS review. Confirm the O*NET profile matches your actual responsibilities before the LCA is submitted, as a mismatch can support a specialty occupation challenge.
