Verify your degree field supports H-1B
Warehouse Manager is not automatically classified as a specialty occupation. Pull the O*NET profile for SOC 11-3071 to confirm the degree requirement language, then match your transcript to that field before approaching employers.
Target LCA-active logistics employers first
Use Migrate Mate to filter Warehouse Manager roles by employers with verified LCA filing history, so you're applying to companies that have already cleared DOL prevailing-wage requirements for this occupation code.
Check prevailing wage before salary negotiations
Run the OFLC Wage Search for SOC 11-3071 in your target metro before you receive an offer. Your employer's LCA must certify a wage at or above Level I-IV, and knowing the floor strengthens your negotiating position.
Ask about E-Verify enrollment during screening
If you're on OPT or cap-gap, your employer must be E-Verify enrolled to authorize your continued work. Confirm this before advancing in the interview process, not after an offer is extended.
Prepare an operations-focused credential package
USCIS scrutinizes Warehouse Manager petitions for specialty occupation eligibility. Assemble a credentials package that pairs your degree with job postings from peer companies requiring equivalent degrees, strengthening the employer's RFE response before one is issued.
Time your filing around the April cap season
H-1B cap petitions are filed in April for an October 1 start. If your OPT ends before October, work with your employer to plan a start date that your cap-gap or OPT end date covers without a gap in authorization.
H-1B Visa Warehouse Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Warehouse Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
It depends on how the employer structures the position. USCIS requires that the role normally requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field, such as supply chain management, industrial engineering, or logistics. Generic managerial titles without a defined degree requirement often face RFEs. Employers who document that peer companies require equivalent degrees for the same role have a stronger petition.
Which employers sponsor H-1B visas for Warehouse Manager positions?
Large e-commerce fulfillment operators, third-party logistics providers, and manufacturers with complex distribution networks are the most consistent H-1B sponsors for this role. You can search Warehouse Manager roles filtered by LCA filing history on Migrate Mate, which shows verified employer sponsorship activity by occupation code rather than relying on self-reported job postings.
What prevailing wage level applies to Warehouse Manager H-1B petitions?
Prevailing wage for SOC 11-3071 varies by metro area and experience level. DOL assigns wage levels from I to IV based on complexity and supervision. Most mid-level Warehouse Manager petitions are filed at Level II or III. You can look up the current wage floor for your target location using the OFLC Wage Search before evaluating any offer.
Can I switch warehouse employers after my H-1B is approved?
Yes, through H-1B portability under AC21. If your new employer files an H-1B transfer petition while your current petition is still valid, you can start the new job once the transfer receipt notice is issued. The new role must still qualify as a specialty occupation under the same degree-field requirements, so a lateral move to a comparable Warehouse Manager position typically qualifies.
What documents does my employer need to file an H-1B petition for a Warehouse Manager role?
Your employer needs a certified LCA from DOL confirming the offered wage meets prevailing wage for SOC 11-3071 in the work location, your academic credentials showing a degree in a qualifying field, and a support letter explaining why the role requires that degree. USCIS also expects evidence that similarly situated employers require equivalent degrees for this occupation.
