Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship in Major Account Executive
Verify your role meets specialty occupation
Pull the O*NET profile for Major Account Executive and confirm your job description requires a specific bachelor's degree, not just any degree. USCIS denies petitions when the role description is too generic to satisfy the specialty occupation standard.
Target enterprise software and SaaS employers
Companies selling complex software to large enterprises file H-1B petitions far more consistently than regional or mid-market sales organizations. Search DOL Labor Condition Application records to confirm an employer has filed for this exact role, not just adjacent titles.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsors
Search Major Account Executive roles on Migrate Mate to surface employers with confirmed H-1B LCA filing history for this title. That filters out companies that list sponsorship as possible but have no filing record behind the claim.
Negotiate offer timing around the April cap
H-1B cap petitions are filed in April for an October 1 start. If you receive an offer in May, your employer can't file until the following April. Structure your offer negotiation to account for this gap, including whether cap-gap or OPT extension covers the interim period.
Confirm your employer is E-Verify enrolled
E-Verify enrollment is a prerequisite for filing an LCA with DOL. Before you invest time in a hiring process, ask your recruiter whether the company is enrolled. Non-enrolled employers cannot sponsor H-1B petitions regardless of intent.
Document your quota attainment and revenue history
USCIS officers evaluating specialty occupation for sales roles look for evidence the position requires degree-level analytical or strategic work. Quantified performance records showing complex enterprise deal management strengthen the employer's petition and reduce RFE risk.

Find Major Account Executive JobsMajor Account Executive H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Major Account Executive role qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
It can, but the role description has to establish specialty occupation, meaning the position must require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field like business, marketing, or information systems. Generic sales roles that accept any degree or substitute experience freely are vulnerable to USCIS challenge. Roles tied to enterprise software, technical products, or complex financial services carry stronger specialty occupation arguments.
Which employers sponsor H-1B visas for Major Account Executives?
Enterprise technology companies, cloud infrastructure providers, and large professional services firms file H-1B petitions for this title most frequently. You can verify an employer's filing history by searching DOL LCA disclosure data before applying. Migrate Mate surfaces this data by role and employer so you can identify which companies have an active H-1B sponsorship track record for Major Account Executive specifically.
How does the H-1B lottery affect a Major Account Executive job offer?
If you're subject to the H-1B cap, your employer registers you in March and USCIS runs a lottery in late March or early April. Selection isn't guaranteed. If selected, the petition is filed in April and status begins October 1. Employers offering Major Account Executive roles need to plan for this timeline, and you need to know whether your current status covers the gap between offer and October 1.
Can my employer file H-1B for this role if I'm already on OPT?
Yes. If you're on OPT or STEM OPT, your employer files the H-1B cap petition in April while you continue working under OPT authorization. If your OPT expires before October 1 and you're selected in the lottery, cap-gap protection extends your work authorization automatically until your H-1B status begins. Confirm your STEM OPT end date and the October 1 start date don't create a gap your employer can't bridge.
What wage level should my H-1B LCA show for a Major Account Executive role?
The DOL prevailing wage for Major Account Executive depends on your work location and the job zone assigned to the role. You can look up the applicable wage using the OFLC Wage Search tool by SOC code and metropolitan area. Your employer must certify the offered salary meets or exceeds the prevailing wage before USCIS will approve the petition. Wage level mismatches are a common LCA compliance issue for sales roles with variable compensation structures.
