Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship in Physician Relations
Verify your degree supports specialty occupation
Physician Relations roles must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards. Pull the O*NET profile for your target job code and confirm the listed education requirement is a specific bachelor's degree field, not a general business or management degree.
Target health systems with LCA filing history
Use Migrate Mate to filter Physician Relations openings by employers who have filed H-1B Labor Condition Applications in this role category, so you're applying only where active sponsorship infrastructure already exists.
Document liaison and partnership outcomes concretely
H-1B petitions for Physician Relations require evidence the role demands specialized knowledge. Build a portfolio of measurable outcomes, physician engagement metrics, or program results your employer can reference in the I-129 specialty occupation support letter.
Clarify LCA wage level before accepting an offer
Before signing, ask which DOL prevailing wage level the employer intends to certify. A Level I filing on a senior Physician Relations role can trigger a Request for Evidence from USCIS, so confirming wage alignment early prevents downstream petition problems.
Ask about cap-exempt employer status upfront
Hospitals affiliated with nonprofit research institutions or qualifying universities may be cap-exempt, letting you start immediately rather than waiting for the October 1 H-1B cap season. Confirm this with HR before the offer stage, not after.
Align your start date with premium processing timelines
If you're transitioning from OPT or another status, request that the employer file with USCIS premium processing. Standard H-1B adjudication can run several months, and Physician Relations roles often have defined program launch or physician contract cycles that won't wait.

Find Physician Relations JobsPhysician Relations H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Physician Relations role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
It can, but the qualification depends on how the employer defines the position. USCIS requires that the role normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field directly related to the duties. Physician Relations jobs framed around healthcare strategy, clinical program management, or managed care partnerships are stronger candidates than generalist liaison roles where any business degree would suffice.
Which employers sponsor H-1B visas for Physician Relations roles?
Large integrated health systems, academic medical centers, and regional hospital networks are the most active sponsors. These organizations file Labor Condition Applications at scale and have in-house immigration counsel. Migrate Mate surfaces Physician Relations openings filtered by employers with verified H-1B LCA filing history, so you can focus your search on companies already set up to sponsor.
What should I expect during the H-1B filing process for this role?
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL first, which certifies the offered wage meets the prevailing wage for the role and location. Once certified, they file Form I-129 with USCIS. For Physician Relations, the petition package typically includes a detailed job duty description and evidence of the specialty occupation nexus, such as a degree requirement in the job posting itself.
Can a Physician Relations employer sponsor me if they're a nonprofit hospital?
Yes, and nonprofit hospitals affiliated with qualifying research institutions or universities may be cap-exempt, which is a significant advantage. Cap-exempt employers can file your H-1B petition at any point in the year, not just during the April lottery window, and your employment can begin as soon as USCIS approves. Confirm the hospital's cap-exempt status directly with HR or their immigration counsel during the offer process.
How does the H-1B prevailing wage requirement affect Physician Relations compensation?
DOL requires employers to pay the prevailing wage for the specific occupation and work location, which they certify through the LCA. You can look up the applicable wage tiers for your role using the OFLC Wage Search before entering negotiations. Employers who file at a lower wage level than the actual seniority of the role risk a USCIS Request for Evidence, so understanding your wage level classification protects both you and your petition.
