The Opportunity
Help transform how millions of people access musculoskeletal (MSK) care by bringing your clinical expertise into Hinge Health’s digital platform. As a Clinical Product Consultant, you’ll apply your MSK and pain science knowledge to support the design and improvement of our exercise therapy programs, assessments, and clinical tools—partnering closely with product, design, and operations to make high-quality care more accessible at scale.
What You’ll Accomplish
In your first 3 months, you will:
- Learn Hinge Health’s clinical programs, including exercise therapy, education, Enso, care management tools, care automation, and AI.
- Build relationships with product management, design, user research, and PT operations to understand current workflows and priorities.
- Begin reviewing product experiences and clinical content with guidance from senior Clinical Product Consultants, providing actionable feedback grounded in evidence-based MSK care.
In your first 6 months, you will:
- Contribute to clinical requirements and user stories for MSK features and workflows, incorporating feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
- Help co-design and iterate on exercise therapy and education journeys that balance clinical rigor with usability and engagement for diverse member populations (e.g., women’s health, migraines, high-risk groups).
- Own small to medium workstreams (e.g., a specific program update, content refresh, or feature refinement) with support and regular guidance from more senior team members.
By your first year, you will:
- Serve as a go-to clinical partner for a subset of product areas, consistently delivering high-quality input on feature design, content, and care team workflows.
- Help monitor and interpret clinical and product metrics (e.g., engagement, adherence, outcomes) to recommend iterative improvements.
- Contribute to team-wide documentation and best practices for integrating MSK, lifestyle medicine, and pain neuroscience principles into digital product experiences.
Who You Are
- MSK-focused clinician: You’re skilled in musculoskeletal conditions, movement evaluation, the biopsychosocial care model, and pain neuroscience education, and you’re excited to apply that expertise beyond the clinic walls. Ideal candidates have additional training in pain neuroscience education, pain reprocessing therapy, or lifestyle medicine (sleep hygiene, nutrition, etc.).
- Developing product partner: You have some experience working with product, design, or operations teams (or strong interest and aptitude) and are eager to learn how technology products are built and iterated.
- Collaborative communicator: You communicate clearly with clinicians and non-clinicians, can explain clinical tradeoffs in simple language, and welcome feedback as part of a cross-functional team.
- Organized and reliable: You manage your own tasks and smaller workstreams effectively, raise questions when needed, and follow through on commitments with growing independence.
- Learner with a growth mindset: You stay curious about new evidence in healthcare delivery and are interested in emerging digital health technologies like computer vision and AI.
Basic Requirements
- Experienced licensed clinician - Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT, NP, ATC, OT, PTA, or equivalent) with over 3 years of post-licensure clinical experience in delivering physical therapy and/or other conservative MSK care.
- Demonstrated expertise in MSK conditions, pain neuroscience education, movement evaluation, exercise physiology, lifestyle medicine, and the biopsychosocial care model.
- Experience collaborating with non-clinical partners (e.g., product managers, designers, engineers, operations leaders) to improve programs, workflows, or tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear clinical recommendations and review product experiences.
Preferred Requirements
- Prior exposure to or experience working within a technology or digital health company, contributing to program or product design.
- Experience or training in psychology-informed PT approaches (e.g., mindfulness, pain reprocessing therapy, CBT, ACT).
- Interest in or familiarity with rehabilitation technologies, computer vision, or AI (including large language models) applied to MSK care.
- Neuroscience or lifestyle medicine course work.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship as a Product Consultant
Match your degree to the role
H-1B approval for Product Consultant positions depends on a direct link between your degree field and the job duties. A business or information systems degree is strong; a general arts degree creates RFE risk even with years of consulting experience.
Check O*NET before applying
Pull the O*NET occupation profile for Product Consultant roles to identify the SOC code your employer will use. That code determines the prevailing wage tier USCIS and DOL apply, directly affecting your LCA and petition approval.
Search verified sponsors on Migrate Mate
Filter Product Consultant openings by LCA filing history on Migrate Mate so you only apply to employers with documented H-1B sponsorship activity. That data comes from DOL disclosure files and removes the guesswork from your job search.
Ask about cap-exempt employer status
Universities, nonprofit research institutions, and certain government entities are cap-exempt, meaning they can file your H-1B petition outside the annual lottery window. If you're consulting for a client in one of these sectors, ask whether the employer itself qualifies.
Verify the LCA wage level before signing
Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the prevailing wage for your job title and work location before accepting an offer. If the offered salary falls below Level II or Level III, the employer's LCA certification will face scrutiny from DOL during the filing review.
Clarify client-site work arrangements early
Product Consultants frequently work at client locations, which USCIS scrutinizes as potential third-party placement. Your employer needs a detailed itinerary or master services agreement covering each client site to support the I-129 petition and avoid an RFE on employer-employee control.
H-1B Visa Product Consultant: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Product Consultant role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
It qualifies when the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field like business, information systems, or engineering, and the job duties reflect that requirement. Roles where any degree field is accepted or where no degree is routinely required by the industry create specialty occupation challenges. Your employer's job description must explicitly tie the duties to a degree field to support the petition.
How do I find Product Consultant employers who actually sponsor H-1B visas?
Search on Migrate Mate, which filters listings by verified DOL Labor Condition Application filing history. That tells you which employers have actively sponsored H-1B workers in consulting roles rather than relying on unverified claims in job postings. Prioritizing employers with an established filing track record cuts the risk of an offer falling through at the sponsorship stage.
What happens to my H-1B status if I'm placed at a client site as a Product Consultant?
USCIS applies additional scrutiny to third-party placement arrangements because the agency must confirm a valid employer-employee relationship exists between you and the sponsoring company, not the client. Your employer needs to document control over your work, a specific end-client assignment, and a confirmed worksite in the I-129 petition. Gaps between client engagements can also affect your authorized period of stay.
Can I change employers mid-H-1B if I get a better Product Consultant offer?
Yes, under H-1B portability rules established by AC21, you can start working for a new employer as soon as they file an H-1B transfer petition on your behalf, provided your current petition has been approved and you've maintained status. The new employer must file before your current status expires. You don't need to wait for the transfer petition to be approved before switching roles.
Which SOC code applies to Product Consultant roles for prevailing wage purposes?
Most Product Consultant roles are classified under SOC 13-1161 (Management Analysts) or SOC 15-1299 (Computer Occupations, All Other) depending on whether the role is business-process-focused or technology-focused. The SOC code your employer selects determines the prevailing wage tier on the LCA. Check the O*NET profile for both codes and confirm with your employer which one matches your actual duties before the LCA is filed.
