Verify your degree aligns with the role
Regional Coordinator positions must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards. Pull the O*NET profile for this role and confirm your degree field directly corresponds to the job duties your offer letter describes.
Check the prevailing wage before negotiating
Your employer's LCA must certify a wage at or above the DOL prevailing wage for your metro area. Run the OFLC Wage Search using the correct SOC code before accepting an offer so you know the floor your salary must meet.
Target employers with cap-exempt filing history
Nonprofits, universities, and government research organizations are exempt from the H-1B lottery. If you're concerned about lottery odds, prioritize Regional Coordinator openings at these organizations, where USCIS processes petitions year-round.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsors
Search Regional Coordinator roles on Migrate Mate to see employers with confirmed DOL LCA filing history for this occupation. That filing record shows an employer has completed sponsorship before, not just that they're open to it in principle.
Align your start date with the October 1 cap deadline
Cap-subject H-1B petitions filed in April have an October 1 employment start date. Structure your offer negotiation so your employer can submit by the April 1 filing window and your transition from any current status doesn't leave a gap.

Find Regional Coordinator JobsRegional Coordinator H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Regional Coordinator role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
It depends on how the employer defines the position. USCIS requires that the role normally require a bachelor's degree in a specific field. A Regional Coordinator job focused on operations, program management, or multi-site logistics can qualify if the employer documents that a degree in business administration, public administration, or a related discipline is genuinely required, not just preferred.
Which employers are most likely to sponsor H-1B visas for Regional Coordinator positions?
Nonprofits, healthcare networks, logistics firms, and national retail or hospitality chains frequently hire Regional Coordinators at scale and have established H-1B sponsorship infrastructure. Cap-exempt employers like universities and government-affiliated research organizations file outside the lottery entirely. Browse open roles on Migrate Mate to see which employers have active LCA filings for this occupation in your target region.
What does the employer need to file before sponsoring my H-1B as a Regional Coordinator?
Your employer must first file a Labor Condition Application with DOL certifying that your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for the role and location, and that hiring you won't adversely affect similarly employed workers. Once the LCA is certified, your employer files Form I-129 with USCIS. Both steps must happen before your employment on H-1B status begins.
Can I transfer my H-1B to a new Regional Coordinator role if I change employers?
Yes. H-1B portability allows you to start working for a new employer as soon as they file a transfer petition, without waiting for approval, as long as you're maintaining valid H-1B status. Your new employer still needs to file a new LCA for the specific role and location, and you cannot begin work before the transfer petition is filed with USCIS.
How does the H-1B lottery affect my chances of getting sponsored for a Regional Coordinator job?
Cap-subject petitions are selected in a random lottery from registrations submitted each April, with 65,000 slots in the regular cap and 20,000 reserved for U.S. master's degree holders. If your employer is cap-exempt, the lottery doesn't apply. For cap-subject employers, registrations must be submitted in March and USCIS notifies selected registrants before April 1, after which employers have until June 30 to file full petitions.
