H-1B Visa Service Supervisor Jobs
Service Supervisor roles qualify for H-1B sponsorship when the position requires a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as business administration, operations management, or industrial engineering. Employers file the Labor Condition Application with DOL before petitioning USCIS, and the 85,000-slot annual cap means timing your job search around the April lottery window matters.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship in Service Supervisor
Map your degree to the role
H-1B approval for Service Supervisor depends on proving your degree field directly relates to the job. Pull the O*NET profile for Service Supervisor to document the standard educational requirements before your employer builds the petition.
Target cap-exempt employers first
Universities, nonprofit research institutions, and government-affiliated organizations are cap-exempt, meaning they can file H-1B petitions year-round without waiting for the April lottery. Service Supervisor openings at hospitals, university facilities, and research labs are worth prioritizing if you need faster authorization.
Search verified H-1B sponsors on Migrate Mate
Filter Service Supervisor roles by employers with confirmed H-1B LCA filing history on Migrate Mate. This cuts out positions where sponsorship is listed as possible but never actually filed, saving you weeks of back-and-forth with recruiters.
Confirm the prevailing wage tier before negotiating
Your offer must meet the DOL prevailing wage for Service Supervisor in your specific metro area. Run the OFLC Wage Search before salary talks so you know whether the employer's offer clears the Level I or Level II threshold USCIS will verify.
Get the LCA timeline in writing at offer stage
DOL must certify the Labor Condition Application before your employer can file Form I-129 with USCIS. Ask the hiring team to confirm when LCA filing starts relative to your intended start date, since certification typically takes seven business days but delays do occur.
Document supervisory scope in your job description
Weak H-1B petitions for Service Supervisor roles often fail because the job description reads as a general operations position rather than a specialty occupation. Ensure your offer letter and petition describe team size, budget authority, and the specific technical knowledge your degree provides.

Find Service Supervisor JobsService Supervisor H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Service Supervisor role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
It depends on how the role is defined. USCIS requires that the position normally requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. A Service Supervisor position tied to a technical industry, such as IT operations, engineering services, or healthcare facilities, is more defensible than a general retail or hospitality supervisor role. Your employer's petition must document why a degree in a directly related field is a standard industry requirement for that specific position.
How do I find Service Supervisor employers who actually sponsor H-1B visas?
Search Migrate Mate for Service Supervisor roles filtered by employers with verified H-1B Labor Condition Application filing history. This tells you which companies have actually sponsored visa holders in comparable roles, not just which ones say they're open to sponsorship. DOL publishes LCA disclosure data quarterly, and Migrate Mate surfaces it by employer and occupation so you can verify sponsorship activity before applying.
Can my employer file an H-1B petition for a Service Supervisor role outside the annual lottery?
Yes, if your employer qualifies as cap-exempt. Universities, nonprofit research organizations, and government research institutions can file H-1B petitions at any time of year without competing in the 85,000-slot annual cap. Service Supervisor openings at hospital systems affiliated with teaching institutions or at federally funded research centers may qualify. For all other employers, petitions must be submitted during the April filing window following the lottery registration period.
What happens to my H-1B status if I'm laid off from a Service Supervisor position?
USCIS provides a 60-day grace period after your employment ends, during which you can pursue a new H-1B transfer, change to a different visa status, or prepare to depart. The grace period applies once per authorized validity period. If a new employer files an H-1B transfer petition with portability before the grace period expires, you can begin work for the new employer once the receipt notice is issued, even before USCIS approves the transfer.
Does the Service Supervisor job description affect my H-1B approval odds?
Significantly. USCIS scrutinizes petitions where the job title sounds managerial but the duties list doesn't clearly require a specific bachelor's degree. A strong petition for a Service Supervisor role names the technical domain being supervised, specifies the degree field required, and explains why a generalist without that degree couldn't perform the role. Vague descriptions citing only general management skills are the most common trigger for Requests for Evidence on Service Supervisor petitions.
