Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship in Technical Solutions Architect
Verify your degree aligns with the role
USCIS requires a direct relationship between your degree field and the Solutions Architect position. A degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering typically satisfies this. A business degree alone often triggers an RFE, so gather documentation linking your coursework to technical architecture work.
Search LCA filings by SOC code
Technical Solutions Architects file under SOC code 15-1299 or 15-1252 depending on specialization. Use the OFLC Wage Search to identify employers who have certified LCAs for this exact title, then prioritize outreach to companies with consistent filing history in your target metro area.
Target companies with cap-exempt pathways
Universities, nonprofit research institutions, and government-affiliated entities can file H-1B petitions outside the annual lottery cap. Solutions Architect roles exist at these organizations, particularly in research computing and academic IT infrastructure, and you can start any time of year without waiting for the April registration window.
Use Migrate Mate to filter for H-1B sponsors
Search Technical Solutions Architect roles on Migrate Mate to surface only employers with verified H-1B LCA filing history for this job title. This cuts out companies that list the role but have no demonstrated history of sponsoring it, saving you from offers that stall at the petition stage.
Clarify the prevailing wage tier before accepting
Your employer must certify your salary meets the DOL prevailing wage for the role's location and experience level. Solutions Architect titles span wage levels 2 through 4 depending on scope. Cross-check the offered salary against the OFLC Wage Search before signing an offer to confirm the LCA can be filed at your compensation.
Negotiate premium processing into your offer
USCIS premium processing upgrades adjudication to 15 business days. For Solutions Architect roles with a defined project start date, request that your employer include premium processing in the offer terms before signing, since retrofitting it after petition filing adds cost and timeline uncertainty.

Find Technical Solutions Architect JobsTechnical Solutions Architect H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Technical Solutions Architect role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
Yes, provided the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as computer science, information systems, or electrical engineering. USCIS scrutinizes job descriptions that list the degree as preferred rather than required, so the offer letter and supporting documentation must make the degree requirement explicit and tied to the specific technical duties of the role.
Which employers sponsor H-1B visas for Technical Solutions Architect positions?
Cloud platform providers, enterprise software vendors, management consulting firms, and large financial institutions file LCAs for this title regularly. Browse Technical Solutions Architect roles on Migrate Mate to see employers with verified H-1B filing history for this specific job title, which is more reliable than assuming sponsorship based on company size or industry reputation alone.
How does the H-1B lottery affect my timeline for starting a Solutions Architect role?
Cap-subject H-1B petitions have an October 1 start date, meaning you register in March and cannot begin work until the following fiscal year at the earliest. If your employer is a university or qualifying nonprofit, the cap doesn't apply and you can start sooner. For cap-subject roles, build at least six months of runway into your job search timeline.
Can I transfer my H-1B to a new Solutions Architect employer without losing status?
Yes. Under H-1B portability rules, you can begin working for a new employer as soon as the transfer petition is filed, not when it's approved, as long as you've been in valid H-1B status for at least 180 days. The new employer must file an I-129 petition and an LCA certified for the specific role and location before you start.
What documentation strengthens an H-1B petition for a Solutions Architect role?
A detailed job description tying each duty to a specific technical discipline, a degree equivalency evaluation if your credential is from outside the U.S., and evidence of the employer's business need for a degreed professional in this role all help. If your title varies from standard O*NET classifications, a letter from a subject-matter expert explaining the role's academic requirements can reduce RFE risk.
