Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as an Accounting Manager
Verify your CPA credential equivalency early
Chilean Contadores Auditores degrees may need a credential evaluation to confirm U.S. equivalency for specialty occupation purposes. Get a course-by-course evaluation from an accepted evaluator before you start applying, so employers don't hit a roadblock when filing your LCA.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search the OFLC Wage Search database for companies that have filed LCAs under SOC code 11-3031 for Accounting Managers. Employers with recent filings already understand the H-1B1 Chile process and won't need to be educated on sponsorship from scratch.
Find H-1B1 Chile sponsorship jobs on Migrate Mate
Filter your Accounting Manager search on Migrate Mate by H-1B1 Chile visa to surface employers whose DOL filing history confirms they've sponsored this role type. It cuts out the guesswork of cold-applying to companies that won't sponsor.
Ask employers about LCA timing before accepting offers
The LCA must be certified by DOL before your consulate appointment can proceed. Confirm your prospective employer knows this sequence and has HR or counsel ready to file promptly, since delays here push back your start date, not just your visa stamp.
Use O*NET to document your role as a specialty occupation
Pull the O*NET profile for Accounting Managers to identify the education and skill requirements that establish specialty occupation status. Employers sometimes need this documentation to support the LCA filing, especially if your job description is broader than a pure accounting function.
Request a consular appointment in Santiago promptly after LCA certification
Once your LCA is certified and your DS-160 is complete, book your appointment at the U.S. Embassy in Santiago without delay. The H-1B1 Chile cap rarely fills, but consulate appointment slots can back up seasonally, so scheduling early protects your start date.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Accounting Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the H-1B1 Chile visa?
Yes. Accounting Manager is classified under SOC code 11-3031 and requires a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a directly related field. USCIS and DOL both recognize this role as a specialty occupation, meaning your employer can file an LCA to support your H-1B1 Chile visa application without needing to justify the degree requirement.
How does the H-1B1 Chile visa differ from the H-1B for an Accounting Manager?
The H-1B1 Chile visa has no lottery and an annual cap of 1,400 visas for Chilean nationals that rarely fills, so you can apply any time of year and get a decision at the consulate rather than waiting on a USCIS petition. The H-1B visa requires lottery selection each spring, and most applicants wait months before USCIS even begins adjudication. For Chilean accounting professionals, the H-1B1 is a more direct and predictable path.
Where can I find Accounting Manager jobs with H-1B1 Chile visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you filter Accounting Manager roles specifically by H-1B1 Chile visa, showing employers whose DOL Labor Condition Application filing history confirms they've sponsored this visa type. That data-backed approach is more reliable than guessing which employers might be open to sponsorship based on job description language alone.
What does the employer need to file to sponsor my H-1B1 Chile visa as an Accounting Manager?
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL, certifying that your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for Accounting Managers in your work location and that hiring you won't adversely affect similarly employed U.S. workers. Once the LCA is certified, you use it to support your DS-160 and consulate interview. There is no I-129 petition filed with USCIS for an H-1B1 Chile visa.
How long does the H-1B1 Chile visa process take for an Accounting Manager role?
DOL typically certifies an LCA within seven business days of submission. After that, your timeline depends on U.S. Embassy Santiago's appointment availability, which can range from a few weeks to a couple of months depending on the season. Overall, Chilean professionals who start the process after receiving a job offer can often complete it in four to eight weeks, significantly faster than an H-1B petition.
