H-1B1 Chile Visa Advanced Practice Provider Jobs
H-1B1 Chile visa sponsorship lets Chilean Advanced Practice Providers work in the U.S. without entering a lottery. The 1,400-visa annual cap rarely fills, and your application goes straight to consulate review. Employers still file a Labor Condition Application with DOL, but the process is faster and more predictable than H-1B visa.

Verify your credentials match U.S. licensing requirements
Chilean APP credentials, including nurse practitioner or physician assistant degrees, must map to a U.S. equivalent specialty. Check your target state's licensing board requirements before applying, since some boards require CGFNS certification or additional exams before a sponsor can file your LCA.
Search LCA disclosure data for active APP sponsors
Use the OFLC Wage Search to filter Labor Condition Applications by SOC code for nurse practitioners or physician assistants. Employers with recent certified LCAs for H-1B1 Chile positions have already navigated the filing process and are far more likely to sponsor again.
Target health systems with H-1B1 Chile filing history
Large hospital networks and multi-site outpatient groups are the most consistent H-1B1 Chile sponsors for APPs. Identify employers using Migrate Mate, which surfaces verified DOL Labor Condition Application data filtered specifically for H-1B1 Chile roles in advanced practice.
Negotiate LCA filing into your offer letter terms
Once you have a verbal offer, confirm the employer will file the LCA with DOL before you resign your current position. The LCA must be certified before your consulate appointment, so getting written confirmation of timeline protects you if HR processes move slowly.
Prepare a specialty occupation documentation packet early
Consular officers assess whether your APP role qualifies as a specialty occupation under H-1B1 Chile rules. Gather your degree transcripts, your credential evaluation, the employer's written job description, and any state license or board certification before your visa interview date.
Understand the one-year validity cycle for planning purposes
H-1B1 Chile status is granted in one-year increments and renewed at the consulate each time, unlike the typical three-year H-1B period. Build your contract renewal and scheduling timelines around that annual window so your work authorization never lapses between terms.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Advanced Practice Provider role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B1 Chile?
Yes, nurse practitioner, certified nurse midwife, and physician assistant roles typically qualify because they require at least a master's degree or equivalent clinical training in a specific field. The consular officer will review your job description and credentials to confirm the position meets the specialty occupation standard under the U.S.-Chile Free Trade Agreement.
How is the H-1B1 Chile visa different from H-1B for APP roles?
The H-1B1 Chile visa has no lottery, so you aren't competing for a random selection slot. The annual cap of 1,400 rarely fills, applications are adjudicated at the consulate rather than by USCIS, and the employer files only an LCA with DOL rather than a full I-129 petition. The trade-off is that H-1B1 Chile status is issued in one-year increments instead of three.
How do I find employers who have sponsored Advanced Practice Providers on H-1B1 Chile before?
Migrate Mate filters job listings by verified DOL Labor Condition Application data, so you can see which employers have active or recent H-1B1 Chile filings for APP roles. Starting your search there eliminates the guesswork of cold-applying to employers who have no experience with this visa category.
What documents does the consulate require for an Advanced Practice Provider H-1B1 Chile interview?
You'll need your certified LCA, your job offer letter specifying the APP role and start date, proof of your Chilean citizenship, your degree transcripts with a credential evaluation, your state license or board certification if already obtained, and your DS-160 confirmation. Some consulates also request a detailed employer support letter describing why the position requires your specific specialty degree.
Can my H-1B1 Chile status be extended if I stay with the same APP employer?
Yes, H-1B1 Chile status can be renewed indefinitely in one-year increments as long as you maintain the qualifying employment relationship. Your employer files a new LCA with DOL each renewal cycle, and you typically return to the consulate for a new visa stamp rather than extending status from inside the U.S.
