H-1B1 Chile Visa Clinical Medical Assistant Jobs
Clinical Medical Assistant jobs with H-1B1 Chile visa sponsorship are accessible to Chilean nationals without a lottery or USCIS petition filing. The H-1B1 Chile annual cap of 1,400 visas rarely fills, and your application is processed directly at the U.S. consulate, making the path to a U.S. clinical role faster than most work visa options.

Tips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Clinical Medical Assistant
Verify your credential equivalency before applying
Chilean medical assistant training programs vary in length and content. Confirm your diploma or technical certificate maps to the U.S. specialty occupation standard by checking your role's O*NET profile, which outlines the education and skill requirements consular officers reference.
Target employers enrolled in E-Verify
Clinics, hospital networks, and outpatient centers enrolled in E-Verify have existing infrastructure for work-authorized foreign nationals. Employers already running E-Verify checks are more familiar with the H-1B1 Chile sponsorship process than those encountering it for the first time.
Search verified H-1B1 Chile sponsors on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Clinical Medical Assistant roles by employers with documented H-1B1 visa Chile sponsorship history. This cuts the time you'd otherwise spend cold-contacting HR teams who don't know the visa category exists.
Ask your employer to file the LCA early
The Labor Condition Application your employer submits to DOL must be certified before your consulate appointment. LCA certification typically takes seven business days, but DOL workload can extend that. Build this into your timeline so it doesn't delay your visa interview date.
Confirm your offered wage meets prevailing wage requirements
Your employer's LCA must certify a wage at or above the DOL prevailing rate for Clinical Medical Assistants in the hiring location. Cross-check the wage in your offer letter against the OFLC Wage Search before signing, so there are no surprises at the consulate.
Prepare clinical documentation in English before your interview
Consular officers reviewing H-1B1 Chile applications for clinical roles expect specialty occupation evidence. Bring translated copies of your clinical training records, any Chilean health authority certifications, and a letter from your employer detailing the medical procedures you'll perform.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Clinical Medical Assistant role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B1 Chile?
Yes, provided the position requires at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a directly related field. The challenge with Clinical Medical Assistant roles is that some employers classify them as general support staff. Your employer's job description must explicitly state a degree requirement tied to clinical knowledge, not just a preference, for the consulate to accept specialty occupation status.
How does the H-1B1 Chile visa compare to the H-1B for Clinical Medical Assistant jobs?
The H-1B1 Chile visa skips the lottery entirely and is processed at the U.S. consulate in Chile, not through USCIS. The annual cap is 1,400 visas for Chilean nationals and has never been exhausted. The tradeoff is that H-1B1 Chile does not confer dual intent, so maintaining clear nonimmigrant intent throughout your employment is essential.
How do I find Clinical Medical Assistant employers who know how to sponsor H-1B1 Chile visas?
Migrate Mate surfaces employers with verified H-1B1 Chile sponsorship history for clinical roles, so you're not educating HR teams from scratch. Many small clinics have never filed for this visa type, so targeting employers with existing experience significantly reduces the risk of your offer falling through during the filing process.
Can my employer start the H-1B1 Chile process before I have a credential evaluation?
Your employer can draft the LCA before your credential evaluation is complete, but the consulate will expect all specialty occupation evidence at your interview. Starting the LCA early is practical since DOL certification takes up to seven business days, but your clinical credentials and degree equivalency documentation must be ready before your appointment is scheduled.
What happens to my H-1B1 Chile status if my clinical employer's contract ends?
H-1B visa1 Chile status is employer-specific, so a contract ending or a position being eliminated terminates your authorized stay. There is a short grace period to find a new sponsoring employer and file a new LCA and consular application. Moving quickly matters, as the H-1B1 Chile does not carry the portability provisions that apply to H-1B holders.
