H-1B1 Singapore Visa OT Jobs
OT jobs in the U.S. are open to Singaporean nationals through the H-1B1 Singapore visa, which offers direct consular processing and no lottery. Employers filing an LCA with DOL can move quickly on sponsorship, making this path faster than the H-1B visa for qualified occupational therapists.

At Apple, we work every single day to craft products that enrich people’s lives. Do you love working on challenges that no one has solved yet? Do you like changing the game? As a member of our dynamic group, you will have the unique and rewarding opportunity to shape upcoming products that will delight and inspire millions of Apple’s customers every day! Apple’s Wireless System and Compliance Engineering team is looking for an engineer to work on radiated system characterization and performance analysis across different connectivity technologies (WLAN, BT, UWB, GNSS) for Apple’s wireless products.
Description
You will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for validating and certifying wireless performance across Apple's product portfolio. Working hands-on at the intersection of hardware, software, and regulatory compliance, you will translate carrier and industry requirements into test cases, execute OTA validation plans, support certification testing at third-party labs, and debug wireless performance issues alongside antenna, RF hardware, product design, and software engineering teams - building deep expertise across wireless technologies and RF systems alongside some of the best engineers in the industry.
Responsibilities
-
Drive wireless performance validation across carrier and industry certification test setups, including final certification at third-party labs (PTCRB, CTIA, CWG), ensuring Apple products meet the highest conformance standards.
-
Translate carrier, regulatory, and industry requirements into actionable test cases, ensuring product validation covers all certification, performance, and compliance criteria.
-
Define and execute validation plans for custom software features.
-
Debug marginal and failure tests with cross-functional teams - RFHW, Antenna, Product Design, EE, and others - and drive design changes to address issues.
-
Own and continuously improve test setups, ensuring lab environments are calibrated, reliable, and ready for next-generation product testing.
-
Plan and execute final certification testing at third-party test labs for PTCRB, CTIA, and CWG testing.
-
Contribute to evolving Apple's wireless characterization methodologies as new connectivity technologies emerge.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree.
-
Hands-on working experience with antenna design and testing, anechoic chambers, and RF test equipment.
-
Solid understanding of RF component characteristics and behavior.
-
Solid understanding of at least one wireless technology: IEEE 802.11, Bluetooth, GNSS, LTE, GSM, UMTS, or CDMA.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE).
-
Understanding of PHY Layer and MAC/application layer protocols.
-
Proficiency in MATLAB simulations.
-
Hands-on experience with RF test equipment from industry-leading vendors (e.g., Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz).
-
Familiarity with OTA test standards and methodologies (e.g., CTIA, 3GPP).
-
Exposure to AI tools and workflows (e.g., LLMs, AI coding assistants, automation platforms) to boost productivity and engineering efficiency.
-
Experience driving certification programs at third-party labs (PTCRB, CTIA, CWG).
-
Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to multitask across various disciplines.
-
Analytical curiosity and a structured approach to diagnosing complex RF and wireless performance issues.

Verify your OT degree meets specialty occupation
The H-1B1 visa requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field. A Singapore degree in occupational therapy qualifies, but make sure your transcripts show the clinical hours DOL expects for a specialty occupation determination.
Check NCLEX-equivalent licensure requirements before applying
U.S. employers need you licensed in the state where you'll practice before they'll file. Contact the relevant state occupational therapy board early, since credentialing timelines vary and can delay your start date.
Search Migrate Mate for employers with H-1B1 Singapore LCA history
Filter by OT job titles and look for companies that have already filed Labor Condition Applications for Singapore nationals. Migrate Mate surfaces this DOL filing data so you can target employers who've done this before.
Target healthcare systems in states with OT shortages
Outpatient rehabilitation networks, pediatric hospitals, and skilled nursing facilities in rural or underserved areas have stronger incentives to sponsor. Your willingness to work in high-need settings makes the sponsorship conversation easier to start.
Benchmark your offer against OFLC Wage Search before signing
Your employer must pay at least the prevailing wage for your OT role and location. Run the OFLC Wage Search using SOC code 29-1122 before you accept an offer so you know if the salary meets DOL requirements.
Confirm your employer understands the LCA comes before everything
Unlike H-1B, there's no USCIS petition for the H-1B1 Singapore visa. Your employer files the LCA with DOL, gets it certified, and then you apply at the consulate. Employers unfamiliar with this process sometimes assume USCIS is involved.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does an OT role qualify as a specialty occupation for the H-1B1 Singapore visa?
Yes. Occupational therapy is classified under SOC code 29-1122 and requires a master's degree as the entry-level standard in the U.S. That degree requirement satisfies the specialty occupation definition. Your employer will certify this in the Labor Condition Application filed with DOL before your consular interview.
How does the H-1B1 Singapore visa compare to the H-1B for OT jobs?
The H-1B1 has no lottery and no USCIS petition, which removes the biggest bottleneck for OT professionals. Your employer files an LCA with DOL, you apply directly at the consulate, and there's no cap anxiety. The trade-off is that the H-1B1 doesn't allow dual intent, so you can't file for a green card while holding it.
How do I find U.S. employers willing to sponsor an OT on an H-1B1 Singapore visa?
Migrate Mate lets you filter OT job listings by employers with existing H-1B1 Singapore LCA filing history, pulled from DOL disclosure data. Targeting these employers saves time because they already understand the process. Outpatient clinics, pediatric facilities, and large hospital systems are the most active sponsors for this role.
Do I need a U.S. OT license before my employer files the LCA?
Most employers want state licensure confirmed before committing to sponsorship, even though DOL doesn't require it to certify the LCA. The credentialing process through CGFNS or your state board can take several months, so start the licensure application as soon as you have a prospective employer, not after you receive an offer.
Can I switch OT employers after entering the U.S. on an H-1B1 Singapore visa?
You can change employers, but each new job requires a fresh LCA filed by the new employer and a new visa stamp at the consulate. There's no portability provision like the one available under H-1B. Plan for a gap in work authorization while the new LCA is certified and your consular appointment is processed.
