H-1B1 Singapore Visa NP Jobs
NP jobs in the U.S. are open to Singaporean nurses through the H-1B1 Singapore visa, which bypasses the H-1B lottery and carries a 5,400-visa annual cap that rarely fills. Employers file directly with the consulate, making sponsorship faster and more predictable than the standard H-1B visa route.

Verify your NCLEX and licensure before applying
U.S. employers require an active state RN license before they'll extend an NP offer. Start your license endorsement or CGFNS credential evaluation early, processing can take several months and blocks sponsorship if it's not done.
Target health systems with active H-1B1 LCA filings
Use the OFLC Wage Search to identify hospitals and health systems that have certified Labor Condition Applications for NP roles. Past LCA activity signals a compliance infrastructure that supports H-1B1 visa sponsorship, not just willingness in principle.
Search H-1B1 Singapore NP jobs on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters job listings by employers with verified H-1B1 visa LCA filing history, so you're not cold-applying to roles where sponsorship is uncertain. Prioritize listings in states where NP scope of practice is broadest, as those roles tend to have stronger hiring volume.
Clarify full practice authority before accepting offers
NP scope of practice varies by state. In restricted-practice states, your employer may need to establish a physician collaboration agreement before your H-1B1 visa petition can accurately reflect your duties, which affects how the specialty occupation requirement is documented.
Confirm the employer will file the LCA before your start date
The H-1B1 visa process requires a certified LCA from DOL before the consular application can be filed. Ask your HR contact to confirm their internal timeline for LCA submission so your consulate appointment doesn't outpace the employer's paperwork.
Use your O*NET occupation profile to document specialty occupation
NP roles must qualify as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. Pull your O*NET occupation profile to confirm the educational requirements listed there, then align your offer letter's stated duties to match that language precisely.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does an NP role qualify as a specialty occupation for the H-1B1 Singapore visa?
Yes. Nurse Practitioner positions require at least a master's degree in nursing and a state-level advanced practice license, which satisfies the H-1B1 visa specialty occupation requirement. Your offer letter should reflect duties tied to that advanced degree, not general RN-level tasks, to ensure the consular officer can verify the classification clearly.
How does the H-1B1 Singapore visa compare to the H-1B for Singaporean NPs?
The H-1B1 Singapore visa has no lottery, an annual cap of 5,400 that has never been exhausted, and is processed at the U.S. Embassy in Singapore rather than through USCIS. For NPs, this means a predictable timeline tied to consular scheduling rather than a random April selection. The tradeoff is that H-1B1 doesn't allow dual intent, so green card planning requires separate consideration.
Which states have the most NP jobs with H-1B1 Singapore visa sponsorship?
States with full practice authority for NPs, including Texas, Florida, Washington, and Arizona, tend to have stronger NP hiring volume because employers aren't restricted by physician oversight requirements. Migrate Mate lets you filter NP roles by employers with documented H-1B1 visa LCA history, which helps you identify active sponsors in specific states rather than guessing.
Can a Singaporean NP on H-1B1 change employers mid-visa period?
Yes, but the new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new consular appointment or an amended H-1B1 visa if you're already in the U.S. There's no H-1B-style portability for H-1B1 holders, so the transition timeline is longer. Start the new employer's paperwork well before your intended start date.
What documents does a Singaporean NP need for the H-1B1 consular interview?
You'll need your certified LCA, the employer's support letter detailing the NP role and your duties, your master's degree transcripts and diploma, your active state NP license, CGFNS credentials if your nursing education was completed outside the U.S., a valid Singaporean passport, and a completed DS-160. Consular officers for H-1B1 Singapore cases typically scrutinize the specialty occupation documentation closely for clinical roles.
