H-1B1 Singapore Visa Platform Engineer Jobs
Platform Engineer jobs with H-1B1 Singapore visa sponsorship are a direct path to U.S. tech roles for Singaporean nationals. The H-1B visa1 has no lottery, a 5,400-visa annual cap that rarely fills, and consulate processing that bypasses USCIS petition timelines entirely, making sponsorship faster and more predictable than the H-1B visa route.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Platform Engineer
Frame your platform credentials for U.S. specialty occupation
Pull the O*NET profile for Platform Engineer roles to confirm the degree-field alignment USCIS and consular officers expect. Your NUS or NTU computer science or engineering degree maps cleanly, but document the direct connection between your coursework and infrastructure specialization explicitly.
Target employers with active LCA filings in infrastructure roles
Use Migrate Mate to filter for employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications for platform, site reliability, or DevOps roles. Prior LCA activity signals an employer already understands H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship mechanics and won't stall at the offer stage.
Distinguish cloud platform specializations when approaching recruiters
Recruiters conflate Platform Engineer, DevOps, and SRE constantly. Lead with your specific stack, whether Kubernetes, Terraform, or internal developer platform tooling, so hiring managers can anchor your role to a specialty occupation classification before the LCA gets drafted.
Confirm the employer can file an LCA before accepting an offer
Ask directly whether the employer has filed DOL Labor Condition Applications before. H-1B1 Singapore requires a certified LCA, which means the employer must be registered with DOL and willing to attest to prevailing wage compliance. This step filters out sponsors unfamiliar with the process.
Use OFLC Wage Search to verify prevailing wage before negotiating
Look up the prevailing wage for your exact SOC code and work location using OFLC Wage Search before salary discussions. The LCA requires the employer to pay at least the prevailing wage, so knowing Level I through Level IV rates gives you a factual floor to negotiate from.
Prepare for a same-day consulate decision at the Singapore embassy
H-1B1 Singapore applications are adjudicated at the U.S. Embassy in Singapore without USCIS petition processing, and decisions are often issued the same day. Bring a complete package including the certified LCA, your offer letter, degree transcripts, and employment verification to avoid administrative processing delays.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Platform Engineer qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B1 Singapore?
Yes. Platform Engineer roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related field, which satisfies the specialty occupation standard. Your employer will confirm the degree requirement when filing the Labor Condition Application with DOL, and the consular officer will verify the role qualifies at your interview.
How do I find employers who will sponsor an H-1B1 Singapore visa for Platform Engineer roles?
Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for employers with H-1B1 Singapore Labor Condition Application filing history in platform engineering and infrastructure roles. This filters out employers who are unfamiliar with the visa type and surfaces companies that have already navigated the DOL certification process for similar positions.
How does the H-1B1 Singapore differ from the H-1B for Platform Engineer jobs?
The H-1B1 Singapore has no lottery and no USCIS petition, so your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL and you apply directly at the U.S. Embassy in Singapore. H-1B requires a USCIS-approved petition first and enters a lottery with a roughly 25% selection rate. For Platform Engineers who qualify as Singaporean nationals, the H-1B1 is a faster and more reliable path.
Can I switch Platform Engineer employers after arriving on an H-1B1 Singapore visa?
Yes, but the H-1B1 is employer-specific, so your new employer must file a fresh Labor Condition Application with DOL and you'll need to obtain a new H-1B1 visa at the consulate before re-entering the U.S. Unlike H-1B portability rules under AC21, there is no provision allowing you to start work with a new employer while the new application is pending.
What documents does my employer need to prepare for H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship?
Your employer needs a certified DOL Labor Condition Application specifying your role, work location, and offered wage meeting the prevailing wage standard from OFLC Wage Search. They should also prepare a detailed offer letter, a support letter confirming specialty occupation status, and documentation of their business operations. You bring these to your consulate appointment alongside your degree transcripts and passport.
