Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Compliance Jobs
Map your compliance credentials to H-2A
Pull your O*NET profile for agricultural compliance roles before applying. Document certifications in pesticide safety, OSHA agricultural standards, or food safety auditing, these directly align with what H-2A visa employers list as specialty requirements when filing with DOL.
Target employers with active ETA 9142A filings
Search DOL's OFLC job order database for agribusinesses that have filed H-2A job orders in the past two seasons. Repeat filers already have an established sponsorship process, which means fewer delays when your petition moves through USCIS.
Search H-2A compliance jobs on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Compliance roles tied to verified H-2A sponsoring employers. The platform surfaces agricultural employers actively filing H-2A petitions, saving you from applying to operations that won't sponsor the visa.
Clarify housing terms before accepting an offer
H-2A employers must provide free housing that meets federal or state standards. Ask whether housing is on-site or off-site, confirm it covers your full contract period, and get the housing address in writing before you sign anything.
Confirm the AEWR applies to your specific position
Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the Adverse Effect Wage Rate for your state and occupation before negotiations begin. Compliance officers sometimes get misclassified under a lower wage category, so verify your SOC code matches your actual duties.
Understand the three-quarter guarantee before signing
H-2A contracts include a three-quarter guarantee, meaning employers must offer you work for at least 75 percent of the workdays in the contract period. If your compliance role gets reduced mid-season, you're entitled to pay for those missing hours regardless.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Compliance jobs with H-2A visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find Compliance roles with verified H-2A sponsoring employers. Agricultural operations that hire compliance officers for regulatory, safety, or recordkeeping functions must file a job order with DOL before petitioning USCIS, so active filers are identifiable and searchable on the platform.
What housing and transportation obligations does an H-2A employer have for compliance workers?
H-2A employers must provide free housing that meets DOL or state occupational safety standards for the full contract duration. They must also cover transportation costs from your home country to the worksite and back at contract end. If you're placed at a remote agricultural operation, confirm housing location and transport arrangements in the written job offer before you accept.
Does my compliance or regulatory background qualify me for an H-2A position?
H-2A is designed for temporary agricultural work, and compliance roles tied directly to farm operations, food safety auditing, pesticide recordkeeping, or worker protection standards typically qualify. The employer's job order filed with DOL must describe duties that are seasonal or temporary in nature. Roles with year-round regulatory management responsibilities may be harder to justify under H-2A's temporary work requirement.
Can my H-2A compliance job turn into a longer-term position?
H-2A status is tied to a specific seasonal contract, typically valid for up to three years with extensions. If the same employer needs you for subsequent seasons, they must file a new or extended job order with DOL each time. H-2A doesn't provide a direct path to permanent residence, so workers seeking long-term positions would need to explore separate immigrant visa categories outside the H-2A program.
