Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as an Auditor
Verify your credentials meet U.S. standards
H-2B visa auditor roles typically require accounting credentials that map to U.S. equivalents. Have your degree evaluated by a NACES-approved credential evaluation service before applying, so employers can confirm your qualifications align with the job's requirements.
Target employers with seasonal audit demand
Resorts, hospitality groups, and seasonal construction firms run concentrated audit cycles tied to their operating season. These employers are far more likely to file H-2B petitions than year-round corporate accounting departments, which typically use permanent staff.
Search verified H-2B employers on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to find employers with documented H-2B sponsorship history for finance and audit roles. Filtering by verified filing activity saves you from approaching employers who have never navigated the H-2B certification process.
Ask employers about their DOL certification timeline
Your employer must file for a temporary labor certification with the DOL at least 60 days before your start date. Confirm early in negotiations that the employer understands this deadline, since missing it pushes your start date back a full season.
Understand how the annual cap affects your start date
The 66,000 annual H-2B cap fills quickly, with separate allocations for October and April start dates. If your employer misses the cap, USCIS will reject the petition regardless of DOL certification, so cap timing must factor into your job search calendar.
Confirm the prevailing wage before accepting an offer
Your employer must pay the DOL-certified prevailing wage for the auditor role in the work location. Look up the applicable rate using the OFLC Wage Search and verify your offer meets or exceeds it before the petition is filed.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find auditor jobs with H-2B visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for auditor roles with confirmed H-2B sponsorship history. Because H-2B petitions are tied to specific seasonal needs, not every accounting employer files them. Filtering for employers who have completed the DOL temporary labor certification process for your role type saves significant time and avoids dead ends.
Does the H-2B annual cap affect when I can start an auditor role?
Yes, and timing is one of the biggest practical obstacles for H-2B applicants. The annual cap of 66,000 visas is split into two halves: 33,000 for the first half of the fiscal year and 33,000 for the second. Demand regularly exceeds supply, so your employer needs to file as early as USCIS allows. If the cap is reached before your petition is processed, you'll need to wait for the next allocation period.
What does an employer need to do before sponsoring an H-2B auditor?
Before filing with USCIS, your employer must obtain a temporary labor certification from the DOL, which involves posting the position domestically and demonstrating that no qualified U.S. workers are available. For auditor roles, the employer also needs to document the temporary or seasonal nature of the work, since H-2B is not available for permanent positions.
Can my auditing qualifications from another country support an H-2B petition?
H-2B auditor roles require credentials that satisfy the job's stated requirements, but the visa itself doesn't mandate U.S. licensure the way some professional visas do. Your employer defines the required qualifications in the labor certification. Having your foreign degree formally evaluated before the employer files helps prevent delays if USCIS or DOL questions your credentials during review.
