Pull your O*NET occupation profile early
Client Service Associate roles fall under specific SOC codes that determine your H-2B visa eligibility. Review your O*NET profile before applying so you can confirm your target employers are filing under a matching occupation code, not a misaligned one.
Target employers who file before the cap fills
H-2B petitions for the summer half-year open October 1 and for winter open April 1. Seasonal hospitality and resort employers who file on opening day have the strongest odds, so prioritize employers whose hiring cycles start months before the season.
Search verified H-2B employers on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Client Service Associate openings by employers with confirmed H-2B filing history. This narrows your search to operations already familiar with the DOL temporary labor certification process, not employers sponsoring for the first time.
Confirm your employer has a certified labor condition
Before accepting any offer, ask whether the employer has already received DOL temporary labor certification for your role. A certified application is required before USCIS can approve your H-2B petition, and delays here push start dates back.
Document seasonal employment history in your application
USCIS and DOL both scrutinize whether the need is genuinely temporary. If you've held prior seasonal Client Service Associate roles, compile offer letters and pay stubs that establish a pattern of lawful temporary work tied to specific peak seasons.
Verify your employer is enrolled in E-Verify
Some states require E-Verify enrollment for all employers, including those hiring H-2B workers. Ask during the offer stage whether your prospective employer is enrolled, since failure to verify employment eligibility can complicate your onboarding timeline.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Client Service Associate jobs with H-2B sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find Client Service Associate openings filtered by employers with H-2B filing history. Seasonal hospitality operations, resort groups, and event service companies are the most common sponsors for this role. Searching by H-2B filing activity, rather than by job title alone, filters out employers who have never navigated the DOL temporary labor certification process.
How does the H-2B annual cap affect my application timing?
The H-2B program issues 66,000 visas per fiscal year, split into two halves of 33,000 each for workers starting before and after April 1. USCIS accepts petitions up to 90 days before your intended start date. If demand reaches the cap, USCIS uses a lottery, so employers who file on the earliest eligible date give you the best chance of selection before numbers run out.
Does a Client Service Associate role qualify as a non-agricultural temporary job under H-2B?
Yes, provided the employer can demonstrate the need is temporary, tied to a seasonal peak, a one-time event, or an intermittent need. Hospitality and resort Client Service Associate positions typically qualify because staffing demand is tied to a defined season. The employer must document this in their DOL temporary labor certification application before USCIS will consider the petition.
What wage standard applies to H-2B Client Service Associate positions?
Employers must pay H-2B workers at least the prevailing wage for the occupation and geographic area, as determined by the DOL. You can look up the applicable rate using the OFLC Wage Search tool before accepting an offer. The prevailing wage floor protects both H-2B workers and U.S. workers from wage suppression and is verified during the temporary labor certification review.
