H-2B Visa Laundry Jobs
Laundry jobs with H-2B visa sponsorship are filled by U.S. hotels, resorts, cruise-support facilities, and healthcare laundry operations that rely on seasonal workers for linen processing, sorting, and industrial washing. Employers must obtain DOL temporary labor certification before petitioning USCIS, and the 66,000 annual cap means timing your application correctly is critical.

Document your laundry equipment experience
List every commercial machine you've operated, including brand names and load capacities where you remember them. H-2B visa employers filing for laundry roles must show the work is temporary, and a specific equipment history makes you easier to match to an open petition.
Target resort and hospitality laundry departments
Hotels and seasonal resorts are the most consistent H-2B filers for laundry positions because their linen volumes spike during peak seasons. Focus your search on properties in summer resort towns and ski destinations, where labor demand is tied directly to tourist calendars.
Search verified H-2B employers on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters job listings to employers with active H-2B filing history, so you're not guessing which laundry operations have actually sponsored workers before. Use it to identify facilities that filed in the current or previous fiscal year.
Check prevailing wage before accepting any offer
Your employer's DOL labor certification locks in your wage at the prevailing rate for laundry workers in that county. Use the OFLC Wage Search to verify what that rate should be before you sign anything, so you know whether the offer matches the certified position.
Time your employer's petition to the cap opening
The 33,000 summer-half H-2B visas become available October 1 each fiscal year. Employers filing for spring and summer laundry seasons must submit their DOL application months in advance. Ask your prospective employer when they plan to file relative to that cap opening.
Confirm your employer is E-Verify enrolled before arrival
H-2B employers must verify your work authorization through E-Verify once you begin. If your employer isn't enrolled before your start date, it creates a compliance gap that can affect your status. Ask HR to confirm E-Verify enrollment during the offer stage.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find laundry jobs with H-2B visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for workers seeking H-2B sponsorship. It surfaces laundry positions from employers with verified DOL filing history, so you're targeting operations that have successfully sponsored workers before. Generic job boards don't filter by sponsorship status, which means most listings you find won't have an active or planned H-2B petition behind them.
How does the H-2B annual cap affect my chances of getting a laundry job offer?
USCIS issues only 66,000 H-2B visas per fiscal year, split into two halves of 33,000 each. Laundry roles tied to summer resort seasons compete for the same summer-half slots as landscaping, hospitality, and construction workers. If an employer misses the cap, they must wait for the next allocation period or pursue a returning worker exemption if Congress authorizes one.
What physical or credential requirements do H-2B laundry employers typically set?
Most commercial laundry positions don't require formal credentials, but employers often expect familiarity with industrial washers, dryers, and flatwork ironers, plus the ability to handle heavy linen loads for extended shifts. Some healthcare laundry facilities require documented knowledge of OSHA-compliant handling of soiled linens. Your O*NET occupation profile for Laundry and Dry-Cleaning Workers outlines the standard competencies employers reference.
Can I change laundry employers once I'm in the U.S. on an H-2B visa?
H-2B status is employer-specific, meaning your visa is tied to the petitioning employer and the certified job. Switching to a different laundry operation requires that new employer to file a separate H-2B petition and receive USCIS approval before you begin work. Working for an employer not listed on your approved petition puts you out of status, regardless of the role similarity.
