Hotel Jobs in Columbus: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a hotel job in Columbus?
Focus your search on the Downtown core, the Short North, and the convention corridor near the Greater Columbus Convention Center, where full-service hotels and large branded properties post the most openings. Guest-facing experience in food service, retail, or events translates well into front desk and concierge roles. Candidates who can demonstrate weekend and shift flexibility, familiarity with property management systems, and strong guest-communication skills stand out in Columbus's competitive hospitality market.
Which companies hire hotels in Columbus?
Columbus hotel roles are posted by RODEWAY INN a CHOICE HOTEL, Citrin, and Sonesta and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. The local market includes national branded chains, independent boutique hotels, and extended-stay properties that serve the city's large convention, university, and corporate relocation traffic.
Are there remote hotel jobs in Columbus?
Yes, though only for a narrow slice of the field. Hands-on roles like front desk, housekeeping, and food and beverage are fully on-site by nature, while revenue management, reservations coordination, and regional sales positions can be remote. About 0% of hotel openings tied to Columbus are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those roles tend to be concentrated in corporate sales and back-office operations rather than property-level service.
How can I get a hotel job in Columbus with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a housekeeping aide, breakfast attendant, or front desk associate role at one of Columbus's many extended-stay or select-service properties, which hire volume staff and train on the job. Columbus State Community College's hospitality program and partnerships with Downtown hotel groups provide structured pathways for first-time applicants. Showing open availability, a positive guest-service attitude, and any customer-facing work history, even retail or food service, gives entry-level candidates a clear competitive edge locally.
