GENERAL DESCRIPTION/PRIMARY PURPOSE
The School of Communication is seeking a 9-month, non-tenure earning, Visiting Instructor of Communication Studies. This position will report to the Director of the School of Communication. Position responsibilities in the School of Communication include teaching undergraduate courses, a load of four speech courses in fall 2026 and four speech courses in spring 2027, as assigned by the Department Director. This is a temporary appointment for a stated term or time-period on a full-time basis. Supervisor: This position will report to the Department Director.
WORKING HOURS: Varies
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: This is not a supervisory role.
REQUIRED LICENSURE: N/A
ANTICIPATED START DATE: August 3, 2026
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters Degree in the discipline or closely related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
Expected to demonstrate effectiveness in teaching (which include face-to-face courses and online course offerings as well as curriculum improvement initiatives).
