Instructor Jobs in Brooklyn: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a instructor job in Brooklyn?
Focus your search on Brooklyn's densest hiring sectors: K-12 public and charter schools, private tutoring centers, higher education institutions, fitness studios, and corporate training programs. Neighborhoods like Downtown Brooklyn, Flatbush, and Bushwick concentrate a large share of openings. Candidates who can show measurable outcomes, whether student improvement data or participant completion rates, tend to stand out with Brooklyn employers over those with credentials alone.
Which companies hire instructors in Brooklyn?
Companies currently hiring instructors in Brooklyn include SK LEARNING CENTER, NYC Fitness Club, and National Enrichment, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Brooklyn's hiring mix leans toward public school systems, charter networks, community colleges, fitness and wellness brands, and professional development firms serving the borough's large and varied workforce.
Are there remote instructor jobs in Brooklyn?
Yes, though remote availability depends heavily on the type of instruction, since hands-on, fitness, and classroom roles are largely on-site while curriculum development, e-learning, and corporate training coordination can go fully remote. About 10% of instructor openings tied to Brooklyn are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with the strongest remote concentration in edtech, professional development, and online tutoring roles.
How can I get a instructor job in Brooklyn with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Brooklyn is through paraprofessional or teaching assistant roles in the city's public and charter school system, which regularly hires candidates who are working toward full certification. Brooklyn-based community organizations, after-school programs, and adult literacy nonprofits also bring on entry-level instructors with relevant subject knowledge. Volunteering with local workforce development programs in neighborhoods like Brownsville or East New York can convert directly into paid openings.
Which industries hire the most instructors in Brooklyn?
