Overview
We are seeking an experienced Dental Insurance Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in managing the dental insurance verification process, sending claims, explaining dental treatment plan insurance benefits to patients .
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dental insurance, including Medicaid, with a solid understanding of dental terminology and coding practices.
Knowledge of open dental software is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments
- Coordinate with dental providers to ensure proper documentation for insurance claims
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Process insurance claims using appropriate dental codes
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their insurance coverage and billing inquiries
- Assist in resolving any discrepancies or issues related to insurance claims
- Collaborate with the dental office team to streamline processes and improve patient experience
- send claims to insurance and check status of the AR
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dental office is a must
- Strong knowledge of dental coding and billing
- Medicaid experience
- Familiarity with insurance verification processes and procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines
