Position Summary
Prevail is looking for a detail-oriented, driven Senior Insurance Operations Manager to own the life insurance case process from intake through underwriting, policy placement, and ongoing servicing. This high-visibility role delivers a white-glove, concierge-level experience for high-net-worth clients and is built for a self-starter with a strong sense of urgency, sharp attention to detail, and genuine satisfaction in engaging prospective clients.
You'll be the operational engine behind the client experience, coordinating with physicians, underwriters, attorneys, CPAs, and advisors to move cases forward accurately and on time, while supporting our Advisors and broader team on sophisticated planning strategies, including legacy planning, estate planning, wealth transfer, business succession, executive benefits, trust-owned life insurance, and premium financing. This is a support and execution role within that team, not a solo ownership of those strategies.
What We're Looking For
An energetic, experienced insurance professional who is highly organized, moves with urgency, and takes pride in getting the details right. Someone who enjoys building trust with prospective and existing clients through sensitive medical and financial conversations, stays composed under pressure, and is motivated to see every case through to a flawless close.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact throughout underwriting and implementation.
- Build trusted client relationships through proactive, consistent communication.
- Guide clients through sensitive medical and financial discussions with empathy and professionalism.
- Set clear expectations on underwriting timelines and requirements; deliver regular progress updates.
- Coordinate review meetings, policy delivery appointments, and post-issue service.
Underwriting Management
- Own the underwriting process end-to-end — intake interviews, medical history, records, and paramedical exams.
- Prepare applications, review illustrations and ownership structures, and confirm premium funding.
- Work directly with underwriters, negotiate offers when appropriate, and monitor outstanding requirements.
- Escalate complex cases and review underwriting decisions with advisors.
Medical Records Coordination
- Order and track APS records and coordinate additional physician statements.
- Follow up with physician offices with professional persistence to resolve delays and prevent bottlenecks.
- Maintain complete, audit-ready documentation.
Policy Servicing
- Manage ownership changes, beneficiary updates, policy loans, premium changes, and dividend elections.
- Lead annual reviews and respond to ongoing service requests.
Advanced Planning Support
- Partner with Advisors on complex, high-net-worth strategies — legacy planning, estate planning, wealth transfer, business succession, executive benefits, trust-owned life insurance, and premium financing.
- Support large face amount and high-net-worth underwriting as part of a coordinated team, not as a sole owner — freeing Advisors to focus on strategy and client relationships.
Case Reviews
- Conduct twice-weekly, comprehensive follow-up on every active case, covering carrier status, documentation, and client communication.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of life insurance case management experience.
- Strong underwriting knowledge and direct experience working with carriers.
- Familiarity with advanced planning concepts: estate planning, premium financing, trust-owned life insurance, business succession, and executive benefits.
- Experience serving high-net-worth clients; Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation a plus.
- Exceptional organizational skills and outstanding verbal and written communication.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a strong sense of urgency and the persistence to keep cases moving. Warm, personable, and emotionally intelligent, genuinely energized by engaging prospective clients and earning their trust. Calm under pressure, resourceful, proactive, accountable, and solution-oriented, with the discretion required to handle confidential, high-net-worth information.
Success Measures
- Case cycle time and underwriting turnaround
- Policy placement ratio and case accuracy
- Client satisfaction and service response time
- Documentation quality and carrier relationship effectiveness

Insurance Jobs in Overland Park: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a insurance job in Overland Park?
The strongest path into Overland Park's insurance market is targeting the carriers, regional agencies, and third-party administrators concentrated along Corporate Woods and the College Boulevard corridor. Claims, underwriting support, and customer service roles are the most common entry points. Candidates who understand commercial lines or employee benefits have a clear edge, since those specialties align with the large employer base and financial services firms that anchor this market.
Which companies hire insurances in Overland Park?
Overland Park insurance roles are posted by Steadily Insurance Agency, Farmers Insurance, and Chubb Insurance and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. The market includes a mix of national carriers with regional offices, independent agencies serving the suburban Kansas City metro, and specialty third-party administrators drawn to Overland Park's established corporate park infrastructure.
Are there remote insurance jobs in Overland Park?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role, since customer-facing and field positions remain largely on-site while desk-based work in claims processing, underwriting review, and policy administration is well-suited to remote arrangements. About 25% of insurance openings tied to Overland Park are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting broader industry shifts. Analytical and back-office roles at Overland Park's larger carriers and TPAs account for most of those flexible listings.
How can I get a insurance job in Overland Park with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Overland Park is a customer service representative or claims support role at one of the regional carriers or independent agencies along the 119th Street and College Boulevard corridors. Many of these employers hire unlicensed candidates and sponsor the Property and Casualty or Life and Health exam during onboarding. A background in finance, healthcare administration, or call center work translates well and moves candidates past the first screening in a competitive applicant pool.
